Pros: Flashlight is easy to use, the switch operates easily. The two LED's give off bright light. It is convenient to carry with you.
Cons: Battery takes longer to charge than advertised. The battery does not hold charge well after first running down. The inner gears sound like they slip, maybe the reason it takes longer to recharge the battery. Pin holding chain is cheap plastic and breaks easily.
Other Thoughts: Ok, if you do not carry it in your pocket where the chain gets twisted.
Bottomline: Good for the price. Could be better.
Pros: There are a few things that are nice about this product that initially lured me into buying it. It is a key chain that fits perfectly with my keys. The silver coating seemed to stay on during the time it worked. And the light was pretty strong for the little key chain it is.
Cons: The front of the lights could use a clear plastic covering of some sort so that the LED's won't accidentally get broken off for some reason. The overall build quality is pretty bad. The arm used to wind the flashlight is very, very flimsy and I was very afraid of it breaking off. The thing that is supposed to spin at the tip of the winding arm does not spin making the winding very difficult. The worst thing about the product is that the inner mechanisms break VERY EASILY. After winding it around 10 times, the gears broke or went out of alignment and I could not recharge the flashlight.
Other Thoughts: I cannot bash this product as much as I'd like to since it is not supposed to be a real flashlight, but instead something to play around with and a conversation piece.
Bottomline: But it is you like miniature things otherwise don't. It won't last very long and cannot a be real replacement for a flashlight.
Pros: The smallest hand crank flashlight I've seen. Hardly takes up any space in your pocket. Very good novelty gadget.
Cons: The output is not bright at all. There is no protective lens over the led bulbs. One led bulb on my unit was only lit up half as bright as the other bulb.
Other Thoughts: A very nice concept but too bad this torch is nowhere near as bright as some of the others that run off battery. It's only a little bright when you are actually cranking it.
Bottomline: This is only good for the kids to play around with. This isn't going to help you when there's a power outage. It may help you find the keyhole at night.
Pros: Very small size.
Cons: Dynamo struggles to charge battery anywhere near full. After fully charging by dynamo, battery voltage drops quite significantly when LEDs are on - around or below 3V with LEDs being under-driven. Gears wear out quickly. The battery is perhaps ill-suited for this.
Other Thoughts: The individual components are probably worth more apart than together in this unit. Perhaps try a Pig torch instead - it does actually produce a decent amount of light.
Bottomline: Try not to waste the world's precious, finite resources by purchasing this item like me. :)
