Pros: - The unit holds to the windscreen with no issues - Overall construction useful and holds most PDA's smart phones with ease
Cons: - Cannot withstand hot temperatures inside a car - I suspect the tipping point for the plastic to start to weaken is around 38 degrees celcius sustained for around 2 to 3 hrs - The base plastic which connects to the suction cap softened then warped...i.e. the weight of the holder bent down and created a U shaped plastic piece. The result was that the holder tipped and touched the dashboard which also resulted in the phone clamp to also melt and deform.
Other Thoughts: Phone holders for cars are much like holders for GPS units, these things should be meant to withstand temperatures that develop on hot days within a car. In this case i have a unit that is no longer reliable but partially still hangs onto the windscreen.
Bottomline: Relatively cheap and would still do a great job if you live in a city that does not have excessively hot days.
Pros: 1. comes in box with everything nicely packed2. is quite universal - but you may need to turn the whole device to get landscape with some devices3. comes with air vent holders4. spring loaded5. strong suction and easy to use6. very strong arm
Cons: 1. it does not open wide enough to hold some devices in landscape mode - you can fix this by just spinning the holder2. maybe a little big?
Other Thoughts: some other devices have a weak lever to engage the suction but this one is quite strong and i don't think it will break so easily
Bottomline: great buy if you want to hold different things at different times - multiple phones? different devices? feels like a very strong device
Pros: Strong suction pad, flexible placement options with multiple adjustment points - swivel joint and 180 rotation plus flexible metal neck makes it possible to place your device in whatever position you desire. The suction seems strong enough to hold most devices that you would want to mount.
Cons: Nothing yet in the few days that I've used it.
Other Thoughts: Though most people will mount this on their windshield, the suction pad will work on all smooth surfaces. It is even strong enough to hold a camcorder if you make modifications to attach it strongly enough. Thus, it can be used as a pseudo suction camera tripod e.g. for filming exterior car shots while you drive...
Bottomline: If you need a device holder, this is the one to get.
Pros: Can hold most of the gadgets you would like it to hold, like phones and GPS devices.It fits nicely my iPhone classic.Strong glass fixation and easy removal.Great rotation.Thousands of positioning options.Comes with clips, allowing you to put it on the air exits.
Cons: After some usage, the holder arm fell of the base. I will have to glue it.Bounces a little bit when going through a bumper or irregular streets
Other Thoughts:
Bottomline: Definitely worth the amount you pay for it.Even not being that cheap, it's not expensive and helps you a lot positioning your gadget the way you like it.
