Pros: - device works as expected - just connect anything with composite output to it and enjoy display on you monitor with D-SUB input (don't forget about USB power!)- pretty good picture & build quality
Cons: - it doesn't do interlaced -> progressive conversion ;(
Other Thoughts: I bought this to connect Wii to my 24'' LCD display. Previously I bought more expensive MadCat Wii -> VGA cable, but it didn't work as expected (just rubbish on the screen)This one works fine, but it doesn't support 480i mode, which means:- you can't play any PAL Gamecube game on your Wii (_some_ NTSC games will work)- forget about Virtual Console games- A few (mostly old) Wii games won't work (Trauma Center 1, Mario Party 8, Marble Mania etc.)There should be no such problems on PS3/XBOX - these consoles support progressive mode in all games.
Bottomline: Buy it if you can live with the limitations or you have device which accepts interlaced input (analogue CRT monitors, some plasmas & projectors).Otherwise you should get some more sophisticated device i.e HD Box PRO (but it is twice as expensive at least)
Pros: -very good price compared at others products like this-its perfect for playing xbox 360 in a monitor, I am using a LG W2284f and its perfect. Theres is a little black line at the left, but it was expected, since my monitor is 16:10 and not 16:9 like a tv wide screen.-Its very easy to assemble.-The material seens to be good
Cons: -None... wait... the VGA cable that comes stinks... hehe, but no problem on that.
Other Thoughts: If you have a poor tv and a good monitor, and want to play your video games in high definition. This is a must buy
Bottomline: buy
Pros: Great item. The reason I bought is because my XCM 1080p Mega-cool vga box went KAPUT on me. :( Never figured out why.So instead of dishing out an extra $90usd after shipping, I came searching here on DX to see if I can find something similar under $40.And I did. With free shipping no less! :D-Works-Now I can play on my 22" Widescreen once again.-USB powered. Definate Plus. Just plug it into the BACK OF YOUR WII. :D-PC --> GAME with the click of a button. (if you are using VGA for pc to monitor)-Small and compact.-Comes with VGA cable.
Cons: -Need EDTV/HDTV to setup initially. (go to a friends or a Futureshop/Best Buy)-Need to AUTO-ADJUST widescreen monitor to get full picture. no biggie.-
Other Thoughts: Bundle this with the XCM MULTI-CONSOLE COMPONENT CABLE VERSION .3 and you can setup ALL your next gen systems to your monitor through ONE wiring setup.Get it if you have two or more systems.Fully Compatible with Xbox 360™, Wii™, PS3™/PS2™, PSP Slim™, Xbox™.
Bottomline: Great product. Amazing price. USB powered (Wii powered lol)Actually works as opposed to not working. :)
Pros: It works with the xbox 360 but the screen looks kind of squished on a dell 2001fp. Another thing that is important to know. You must set your xbox 360 to 720p or this won't work. you can't even adjust it with the composite cable. You have to hook this thing up to an HDTV TV, then set it to 720P and then it will work on this device.
Cons: I was thinking that this adaptor would convert any component signal to work properly with the monitor. I think this is just a simple switchbox, correct me if i am wrong.
Other Thoughts: Make sure you have a widescreen monitor.
Bottomline: It works for the $$s. you may want to consider the NEOYA X2VGA device instead.
