Ownership verified by DX great

Involvement: General (knows how to use it) - Ownership: more than 1 month

Price: starstarstarstarstar
Ease of Use: starstarstarstarstar
Build Quality: starstarstarstar
Usefulness: starstarstarstarstar
Overall Rating: starstarstarstarstar

Pros: - Cheap Q5
- Very bright
- Throws 100 yards easy
- Very large usable spill
- Works on 18650 & 123A
- Pretty nice build Quality
- Appears to be water proof

Cons: - Can't fit protected RCR123A
- With protected 18650 it will not work if you screw the tail on tight
- Bezel only takes 2 turns to screw on and off, can fall off if not perfectly tighten, and its easy to over tighten

Other Thoughts: 18650
- ~4 hours high with protected Ultrafire
-Slightly less bright than 123a
-Low mode is about 50% of high
123A
- ~1 hour on high with crappy non-protected rechargeable
- ~2 hours on low, low is about 80% as bright as high
- Protected does not fit

Bottomline: Works best with 18650

Ownership verified by DX Good torch, medium price

Pros: - Cree Q5 led provides a powerful beam with an acceptable spill
- Good grip and size, easy to hold in hand and even to keep it in your pocket
- Long throw, enough to see what happens up to 100 meters away in the dark
- Medium price (in fact, low for a cree q5 torch)
- Solid construction
- Works fine with 1x18650 and 2xCR123A Li batteries
- Long lasting battery runtime (tested with 18650)
- Lightweighted and well balanced
- Clean machining
- Two modes (high/low)

Cons: - The hotspot not as well defined as Fenix comparable models (i.e. P3D - doubled price)
- Not a hole to attach a lanyard, wich is annoying (needed some modding work to drill one)

Other Thoughts: The two modes are great for me, despite no memory feature. Would be better with a side clicky switch, so it's a more natural and easy way to operate it (hope would be an improvement in future).

Bottomline: Definetely a great flashlight for a medium price. Very useful if you like camping, hiking, etc. Firstly I ordered the Trustfire T1 Q5 from DX but, after a couple of weeks waiting availability, decided to change for this model and I don't regret.

Pros: Bright
2 simple modes, no useless strobe-modes
Can use both 1x 18650 and 2x CR123A
Good throw and some usefull spill
Good runtime. I havn’t done a runetime test yet, but a 18650-cell will last “forever”.

Cons: No mode-memory, the cycle is High-Low-Off

Other Thoughts: With 2xCR123A it's about the same output as my Fenix T1, only with a tighter hotspot. And this flashlight is less than half the price.

I also bought a holster (sku: 1152)and it fit, but the flashlight is small enough to fit in a pocket.

Bottomline: This is the flashlight I use most at the moment. Great if you want a cheap but powerful flashlight.

Ownership verified by DX There are better Q5 flashlights out there

Ease of Use: starstarstar
Build Quality: starstarstarstar

Overall Rating: starstarstar

Pros: - Good finish.
- Works ok with 18650 and/or rcr123
-

Cons: - The beam is really too tight.... not good for close-up use.
- The length of this flashlight is longer than ultrafire c2.
- There is no lanyard-hole and lanyard at the tailcap.

Other Thoughts: - 2 mode (High-Low) may be annoying.
- I am disappointed with this flashlight, the ultrafire c2 with larger spill is a better option in my opinion.
- Deal extreme should provide more info on this one, eg. voltage, brightness etc?

Bottomline: - Not up to my taste.
- Look for better Q5 flashlights.
- May be good throw but not for close use
