Pros: they are inexpensive and cute, you really cannot do anything with them but look at it, but it does makes a nice gift for a child

Cons: could not pick the colors that you want, i would rather have some type of metal key chain than the string that was attached to the lid, you really could not use it as a key chain anyhow because it would probably break. it looks like the bottle is made out of glass

Other Thoughts: i wonder if the gel will ever dry up or will it last forever.

Bottomline: if you need a gift for a child, buy it, its cheap and cute and you get two of them. i gave one to my mother and she loved it.

Pros: This is a nice decorative plant keychain.
It is small and compact, barely notice its there its that light. Very easy to carry around, but tie it tightly. There is no maintenance! No need to water, just leave it in a place with light.
Its a great gift for friends, relatives

Its one of those neat thinngs you have to have and the price is right too.
Base is glass container, lid is plastic with silver paint, and the string is a yellow cord (well its string) could be a better material. And the glass container is bottle shaped, with a cork top.

Cons: Base is a glass container.
About an inch high. The width is one quarter of an inch or a bit more.
The glass feels quite thick.
The glass can break when dropped.
I broke one by accident.
Good thing they come in a set of two.
The string to hold it is a bit flimsy. If you can replace it you should.
One of my plants was slanted and never slanted back to the right position even when in the sun.
I am not exactly sure if it is alive. This is because it does not slant back. Also the yellow base for the plant, I assume it is some type of water gel for plants. It does not slant back as well when placed on a level surface.
I can not remove the cork on top of the glass bottle.
If you want to water it, the cap/cork is sealed onto the glass. I think the only way is to break the bottle.
Mine came only in one type or colour. I got a yellow gel bottom with the same type plant in both keychains.
The cap is cheap plastic. It is silver in colour and can get loose. And that is how it broke so easily.

Other Thoughts:

Bottomline: Comes in the standard DX envelope by air mail. I did not choose any other mailing option. I remember it came quite quickly. It would make a nice wedding flavour. Or one of those gifts for a mass gathering or meeting.
I should have tested the other plant I have by breaking the bottle to see if its alive. This is a lot harder than I thought to write over five hundred words. Maybe I should start writing run on sentences. I hope this review helped you decide whether it is worth your hard earned money. For some reason when I saw the original keychains in stores they retail for over ten dollars and I was not sure if I had the green thumbs for it. The retail version in the high end gift stores have to be watered and they grow or out grow the glass containers. Hmm. I forgot to check if you need to transplant them. My plant did not change in size for six months. So I think maybe it did die and just remained peserved in its glass container. Maybe there is no oxygen to rot it. What else to say. It is not bad for a knick knack. Very small not too safe for kids or animals.

- Different gel colors - I got yellow and orange (but I wish I got blue, too)
- Without the plastic cap, it looks quite decent
- Mine weren't mouldy at all
- It seems (judging by other owners) that you can keep it for 6 months unattended before you have to repot it

Cons: - It cannot be used as a keychain, because the little bottle is made of real glass. Well, it can, but you'll eventually break it in your pocket...
- It's summer here in Slovenia and the inside of bottle has some condensed water on its walls, making it harder to admire the plants

Other Thoughts: - I'm a guy, so I'm not very good with flowers and junk, but I'm happy that I can have these little plants that don't need any special attention on my desk

Bottomline: Give as a gift, get some for yourself, either way you're getting a good deal!

Pros: -No interaction is needed, plant grows on its own, has its own container, and all the nutrients it needs
-Convenient size, very small, a little smaller than a regular key
-Makes a great gift, due to its uniqueness
-Very cute little bamboo plant

Cons: -Not very fun, you can only look at it
-The gel melts in high temperatures, e.g. if you leave it in your car, it will die.
-Container is made of glass so it can break

Other Thoughts: Selection is random, so sometimes you get plants that look mangled.

Bottomline: For the price, this is a very good buy, and makes a great gift for just about anyone.
