Pros: Great replacement for my old one. I use it with a 4gig flash usb drive and sd card.

Cons: Does not re-size photo if it is too large...some photos edges are cut off..must make suitable size photos to make sure they appear properly or part of the photo will not be shown

Other Thoughts:

Bottomline: Just what I need....You can load music files and photo files and play music while it also slides through your photos! This is a great feature, however, you mus create a folder for each, the usb and sd all act like hard drives and you can only place so many items in the root no matter how large the device is. By making folders, this solves this problem. To get it to work great, place all your music in one folder and all your photos in another, 2 folders, then you are able to play all the music in the folder and slide show all the photos at the same time , by having multiple folders it will play only that folder and show only the photos in the folder you chose this is why only having 2 folder, 1 for all music and one for all photos works well...

Pros: Small size, easily mounted with velcro to side of TV. Excellent video quality, plays divx directly. Just PLUG IN the memory and it plays automatically! It runs from 5vdc- I ran it from a USB cable too (USB power cable not included -made it myself- but AC adapter is). The remote works very well, and has all features you would ever need. The menus are easy to navigate, but not required since it plays upon media insertion. GREAT device- small enough to take with you to travel.

Cons: Case is not sturdy, pressing down on it's center activates the rewind button (perhaps just mine). Does not support NTFS (apparantly). And will not supply enough current to power an external HDD (2.5-inch) from USB power.

Other Thoughts: There are DVD players available that play divx, however they are not as portable, and cost much more. This is an excellent idea for people with large movie collection of Divx. (like say- 2000 titles!)

Bottomline: If you have more than a few DIVX movies, this device is for you, just be sure to get a 2gb to 16gb cheap flash memory to use as a "video tape" from your movie collection. You will certainly wonder how you got along without this device!

Pros: - Very nice web 2.0 interface for the menus
- Very small
- plug&play
- the remote make it pretty handy
- battery included!!
- Its able to read SD cards and usb at the same time!

Cons: - The power adapter is American (flat) plug instead of European (round)
- The power adapter only supply 0,5 mA even tho the card reader needs 0,8 at least to work. With the power adapter that comes with the unit froze all the time. I had to buy a regular nokia power adapter to make it work...
- It gets really hot... I bought a heat sink to attach to the device :)
- You cannot navigate the menu if you are playing some mp3 to look for another song for example

Other Thoughts: - I guess it could read more formats... flv for example ;)
- A site to upgrade the firmware to read more formats would have been nice ;)
- I haven't tried a large usb device...

Bottomline: Its a really nice product, really cheap. I haven't seen a lot of this kind of card readers even when I think there should be one in each home ;)

Pros: Everything comes in a box, as depicted in DX description, the unit with the remote control -battery included-, connecting cables and AC adaptor.

A short but useful user manual is too included. A bit rough english, but quite understandable.

True Plug&Play, the start menu is in english and my PAL TV system was detected automatically. Less than 1 minute after unpacking I was already watching a DivX movie.

In a more detailed way:

AUDIO: The audio mp3 files are decoded easily from any source (SD card or USB stick). Sound quality is quite good.

PICTURES: JPEG format pictures are also decoded from both inputs. You can browse and explore folders, select one and play the pics in slideshow from the one you select. Good image quality, no flickering.

MOVIES: DivX AVI files play great from the SD card input. Also it plays movies from a USB-Stick. Quite good image quality. Pause with stable image. Fast forward/rewind at 2x, 4x, 8x and 20x work perfectly if your SD card is a fast enough one (at least 66X)

REMOTE CONTROL: works nicely and reaches the unit from at least five meters.

The small size is a very big pro.

Cons: The ac adaptor in the box was for an USA mains outlet, even if the picture shown in DX is clearly that of an european plug -what I was expecting to get- then I used an USA/European adaptor to check the player.

A quite annoying audible "interference noise" appears when playing movies. When if FFWD or in the case you should increase the volume, it can be a real pain. It comes from a poor shielding of the audio signal from the DC inlet, and replacing the ac adaptor included for another one - from a not in use digital photo frame I have- resulted in a very strong noise reduction.

The unit heats up quite a lot after a few minutes working. I glued four small "feet" to the corners of the box bottom to allow some air circulation and the heating decreased noticeably.

Other Thoughts: With a better shielding and USB 2.0, it would be perfect.

Bottomline: With a great quality-price match, this is a must have. Take with you in travels or to your friend's houses to enjoy pics and movies.
