Pros: It's cheap. It's small. It's durable enough to survive your kid (but it probably won't survive your dog). Detail level is fantastic! And illumination is a really nice touch - you will have a blast driving around the house in the dark!
Cons: Needs a smooth surface to run. Asphalt is too rough, but concrete will do. Hardwood floors or linoleum are the best. Don't run it on carpet, or you will burn out the motor really fast. Another consideration is the remote itself. It _looks_ like a proportional control, but it isn't. It's the same as a 4-button "remote" found on most cheap RC toys - no gradual increase/decrease of speed; no gradual turns either.
Other Thoughts: Turn it over and inspect the front wheel travel. They should rotate to the same angle for both the left and the right turn. If they get stuck against the body of the car, carefully heat that part of the body with the hair dryer and slightly (2-3 mm is usually enough) pull out the "offending" part. Another checkpoint is the wheels and tires - sometimes they are not "clicking" in place and get loose after a few minutes of running. A drop of Goop or Gorilla Glue will fix that. Oh, by the way - it needs 4 AA batteries (not included) - 2 AA for the car, and 2 AA for the remote. I was a little concerned about the batteries, because this info is nowhere to be found in the product description or previous reviews. Don't worry, as I found out it needs a good ol' AA. On my 2500 MAh NiMH rechargeable batteries it runs almost indefinitely - I get tired sooner than batteries get exhausted!
Bottomline: Excellent bang for the buck! Doesn't need much space - I can run tight 8's on less than 5x5' (1.5x1.5m) square. The speed is not very impressive, but more than enough to have a lot of fun indoors!
Pros: This is an Auldey Race-Tin model RC Car. The level of details on the car is very good. I have a similar 1/32 Burago model (no RC) car and all the details on it are present on the Auldey RC Car too. The paint is very realistic and readable. It comes with a transparent plastic case in which you can store it when you are not playing with it, so the guests can admire the car.The DX team was quick enough, so I got the car in less than 2 weeks from submiting the request (I live in Eastern Europe)
Cons: None, the car worths the money (I like the headlights very much :D). Chasis is made from plastic (I think it's ABS) so the car is very light. I find the speed acceptable for running inside (I didn't took it outside yet). There are no batteries included, in case anyone wonders about this
Other Thoughts: This is the third item bought from DX and I'm very pleased on the way they handle the requests
Bottomline: For 30$ it's a car you'll enjoy to have in your collection.
Pros: The detail is above and beyond what I expected. My 2yr old son was able to use the controls. I am not a car person but was able to get this to work in no time.
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: I bought this for my husband for Christmas. He has an '07 STi. I gave it a test run since I'll be tucking it away for 2 months until the holidays come to be sure it worked. He is going to go bonkers. This is a WRX/STi owners dream. I still can't get over how intricate the details on it are. A steal for under $30.
Bottomline: Very pleased. Would recommend this to others. Especially Subaru rally fans.
Pros: Excellent details! The car is extremely detailed as the words over the car is readable and looks like the real deal. You have LED head/back lights and suspension for all 4 tires.
Cons: A bit expensive. I find the car a bit too slow, but then I always have the urge for the need for speed. The build quality is pretty good as I accidentally drove this off my stairs and it tumbled over each step but as it landed at the bottom, it still kept going.
Other Thoughts:
Bottomline: This is an excellent R/C car for the price. It is smaller than I expected but it does come with extremely nice detail. If you are bored at home and want something to do, pick up this R/C car and drive safe!
