Pros: I use it at my HP Pavilion, and it fits inside the PCMCIA slot perfectly, looking as an original thing (the color matches my note's plastic); Windows automatic installs all drivers needed as soon you insert the SD Card in it (else Windows doesn't see it).
Cons: It doesn't read any SDHC card! I think it's because this product may be older. I have many SDHC cards (4, 8 and 16GB) and I bought this because of them, but isn't DX fault, I didn't read specs carefully. Normal SD cards runs at good speed
Other Thoughts: It would be perfect to me if it could read SDHC cards.
Bottomline: If you need a card reader to your old notebook and do not use SDHC cards, this is perfect.

Pros: It does what it claims to do, it appears to be solid in construction
Cons: When used in my Toshiba TE2100 the whole unit fits flush with the outside of my laptop which puts the thumb cutout part of the reader inside the PCMCIA slot, when I inserted a SD card it also went flush with the outside of the laptop which required tweezers to remove the card.
Other Thoughts: The memory card contacts inside the card reader need to be set less deep into the unit so that the card protrudes enough from the unit to allow it to be grasped between the finger & thumb for removal purposes.
Bottomline: It was purchased to make card reading easier but it does not achieve this. Maybe this one is faulty because I have never seen a card reader where the card goes all the way in until its flush
Works as it should

Pros: Works with out a problem at all and doesnt stick out of the PCMCIA slot so you can always keep it in as if there is nothing there at all.
Cons: When you plug it in windows doesn't see it like typical card readers. It made me think that the card reader wasn't working as I was expecting windows to detect the device.
Its not until you put a card in that it detects and adds it to windows. This is handy tho as its only there when you need it.
Other Thoughts: Make sure you put the SD'/MMC card in the right way, can be a bit hard to get out too as theres no push button to eject.
Bottomline: Get one if your laptop doesn't have a card reader.
Good option

Pros: Worked well, as announced. I could use my 1GB card without problems in a laptop.
Now, Im trying to use that in a specific hardware (like a CAM). I need to use that as a RAM memory but Im in trouble doing that. Its not a problem of this device but a problem from my specific hardware. Im asking for manufacturer support. I hope we can do this because it will save me about 400 dollars.
Cons: No cons. Just the problem above but its my hardware problem, in fact.
Other Thoughts: Its a good option to old computers without USB, to access memory cards.
Bottomline: If you just want to read cards, there are others option, like a pcmcia card creating usb ports. I needed that because my hardware just had this kind of slot.
