                                            Pros: 1) windows mobile on board, far far better than symbian and similar slow and awful OS, you can install tons of software and above all it is very stable
2) the processor mounted on x999 is a robust texas instruments, fast enough and can be overclocked safely a bit (with proper application of course)
3) the screen is spectacular and works very well, similar at 99% compared to an original iphone, light and proximity sensor are well regulated and both work perfectly
4) battery life is good even if it depends on how much the display is turned on
5) the phone is well built, really robust
 
                                            Cons: 1) misses wifi, but it is not a big "con", also because integrated wifi antennas are very weak and you can play with it only at home near your router, outside is useless
2) misses integrated gps antenna, but like above isn't necessary for a real use, for example I have a nokiaN95 and integrated gps antenna is a pain, it takes more than 1 minute for seeking the signal and often looses it without reason, in my opinion integrated gps antenna in modern mobiles isn't strong enough, to solve it on x999 mobile I've attached an ext bluetooth (32ch) antenna, installed tomtom6 and results are that it works better than my classic tomtom nav, much faster!
3) it does not have keys in front... is very difficult to play MAME games :)

                                            Pros: The cell phone works perfectly in Belgium. You can download a lot of themes for this phone on the internet. It looks nice and has a big screen. There are a lot of options on the cellphone. The camera on the back and front works perfectly and is good quality. Price is also perfect for this kind of phone. 
(sorry for bad english spelling!!)
 
                                            Cons: I don’t like the  logo on the front and back. But its big and heavy for a women.
When your calling it sounds clear and loud enough
 
                                            Other Thoughts: I love the celphone, you can use it for personal use or professional use.
 
                                            Bottomline: nice cellphone, price is also good for what you get!

                                            Pros: Camera is great as long as you have good lighting.

The apple logo could be a pro to some.

Runs many pocket PC games and software and it runs most java applets.

Windows Mobile 6 is very good, does everything I want it to.

Long battery life.

Works in Australia. 

                                            Cons: Apple Logo on front and back

Can sometimes be slow navigating throughout the phone.

Videos need to be low resolution or playback will be choppy.

Video recording is only 176x144 even though 320x240 is claimed by DX. 

                                            Other Thoughts: My office package also had "OneNote"

Both batteries came precharged.

Using SKU.08840 as a GPS receiver for this phone works great.

To receieve files via bluetooth you have to go to settings then "Beam" then allow files to be recieved. To send files you must "beam" them to other people.

GPRS works for me when setting it up according to my mobile ISP.

Consider this phone not having 3G a good thing, 3G eats battery life :)

Will be using this as a GPS 

                                            Bottomline: Great phone, you can't find another phone as good as this at this price.

                                            Pros: Works really well.
Great for managing my appointments and phone all in one easy to use device.
Alot of 3rd party apps to install.
Syncs with my outlook calendar on PC.
Setup Internet for GPRS and works well, Also use to download my emails while on the road.
Screen rotates when you spin phone around.
Great battery life.
Really good speaker quality for handsfree or watching movies/music etc. 


                                            Cons: Would be great if it had WIFI and GPS but not really required for my needs at that price.
No English manual or software supplied "but really dont need"
I get my net access through GPRS anyway and hope to setup bluetooth sharing of my pc when at home using "www.bluesoleil.com".

You will need to download active sync english version for XP or if using vista use windows mobile device center "http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/devicecenter.mspx" 


                                            Other Thoughts: Comes with 2 batteries and headphones,
Can be charged via USB port.
Heaps of Themes/ ringtones can be downloaded off the internet to change to your needs.

                                            Bottomline: All round great device and works very well.
Took me a while to figure out how to get to 3d menu. "you do this by sliding your stylus from bottom of screen to top."

1. Fail to connect to internet with browser, how to do it?
It may becausd by service provider or you never adopt this service. So please contact your service provider on how to use these services. Another reason may be incorrect settings for connecting internet please check it again.

2. I got Sim card error in the screen indication, please help.
(I). You got dirty sim card, just clean the sim card with a soft cloth will do.
(II). Incorrect installing for Sim card. Check and reinstall it.
(III). Damaged SIM Card. Please contact your service provider for a new card exchange.

3. No signal or Weak signal.
(I) If you are very high building or basement, signal will be very weak or not exist. So you need to try it in outdoor place , it is better.
(II) When in Calling Rush time, you may not cannot make a call successfully. Just try it when rush over.

4. Fail to power on the Mobile phone.
(I) Checked the battery if run out or not. Charge the battery fully and install it to use your Mobile phone.
(II) Operating system disordered or unsuccess to system. press the camera button and volume button first, then press power key in a longer time to recover to intial value. Please be cautious to use this function, because doing this will remove the information in your phone (exclude the sim card information)

5. Failed to call others, how to do?
Please check if you have closed the talk function. reopen it will do.

6. Failed to conect to internet, how to do?
If you got invalid SIM card or not in service range. Please contact your service provider.

7.Fail to charge the battery, please help.
(I). Mke sure if you connect the battery to charger ,and charger to Power source in good condition.
(II) Please be sure you use the special designed charger for this mobile phone. Other replacement charger may cause damage to your mobile phone .
(III) Please use adjust the charging voltage at correct value.

8. X999 External GPS Setting Tips:
(I) Power on X999, specify the Signal Launch porting you such as COM6.
(II)When you do settings for external GPS equipment, please just set the hardware port, for procedure port , ignore it.
(III) Before you run this device, please do correct setttings of the map software in your Mobile phone. We take Careland map software as a example,
you need to config one file in advance , as follows,
COMMPORT=COM6:
BAUDRATE=9600
Please note that there is Colon behind the number 6. some software does not a file to setting . By the way, most BAUDRATE rate port is 4800. You can try 4800 if 9600 not work your GPS.
Just note that the bluetooth will send indications command when you run the map procedure every time, so GPS detecting completed automatically.
In a word , 3 points you need to take care for settings:
(1)Window 6.0 bluetooth setting,
(2)Win6.0 external GPS setting.
(3)The software port and BAUDRATE settings.
