Pros: This is a very nice unit.
I bought it to replace a gift I received from a friend. the gift was the same exact piece like this one, but it had a logo and was more expensive. I had connected the original gift to my laptop and when I moved the laptop the unit fell onto the floor and cracked. I did not want to upset the person who got me the gift so I searched online for a duplicate of the original that was not too expensive.
This is very cute and I make sure to watch the unit when it is plugged in so I do not drop this one. It works great.
Cons: the only thing of concern is that it gets a little too hot when plugged in for a long time.
Other Thoughts: great as a gift or to spruce up a home office. it can be a little distracting during work in a public office.
Bottomline: if you are looking for something different, this is a very nice usb gift for your self or someone else.

Pros: Bright, great, nice!
Works from USB
Does not take much place on the table
Easy to use.
Has a battery dock, don't think I'll use the batteries
Cons: It should have an on/off switch, I never turn it off though...
Other Thoughts: I have an old one bought in Russia but its particles are not mixed up as in this new one. Is it a question of time or not?
I never turn it off..
Bottomline: Has 7 states which are switched to one by one:
1) Red;
2) Blue;
3) Green;
4) Red & Blue;
5) Green & Blue;
6) Red & Green;
7) Red + Green + Blue.

Pros: Illumination is brighter than I anticipated.
Colors are very distinctive and brilliant.
The silver finish matches perfectly with the trim and base of the Dell monitors it is sitting next to!
Unlike some of the other opinions, I like the size--big enough that it does get noticed and small enough so that it doesn't get in the way, or take up too much room.
Cons: None, so far.
(The only possible con would be if it doesn't last very long-- I just got it!)
Other Thoughts: I really don't have anything to compare this to as I have never purchased any decorative gadget like this before. But I must say, after receiving it and plugging it in, this is quite beautiful. I have it on my desk at work and EVERYONE has a comment about it! I just hope it doesn't "disappear" some night when I'm gone (if you know what I mean). Might want to stock up, DX!
Bottomline: I highly recommend this item.

Pros: Well, it does what it is supposed to do - changing colors and giving little light. Silver-like parts in it makes it nice. USB powered, can connect to laptop, etc.
It's quite romantic I think.
Cons: Small, much smaller than expected. The liquid inside is more like water than it is in lava-lamps, which I somehow expected. Build quality is OK, not excellent.
Other Thoughts: That was a Christmas present for my sister. Well, she wasn't very happy with it, but after a while she started using this lamp when having her leisure time in front of laptop in the dark.
Bottomline: Umm.. Now I would look for something else for a Christmas present, but this was OK too.
