Pros: This thing creates some sort of field thats for sure! it ruins almost ANY sort of wireless transmission in the 1-6ghz band including wifi and cordless phones
Cons: Does not block 3G or NextG(850mhz australia) so its only useful for 2g GSM phones or possibly CDMA. Mine came with a defective power supply. I'm not usually radiosensitive, but after a minute or so of operation this thing gives me a massive headache, gets quite warm indeed and draws LOTS of power from the power supply. Any energy that isnt dissipated as heat is turning into RF, and there is no way that can be good for anybody nearby who wants to have kids in the future.
Other Thoughts: This product does some of what it advertises, im sure it can be tuned, but mine got played with a few times then put away. Technically they are illegal in Australia anyway.
Bottomline: It's canceriffic!
Pros: Works extremely well in the area where I work blocking all cellphine activity in a 180 x180 foot building. When I mount it in my vehicle (on the dashboard behind the windshield) I can see 'celphoners' stop and look at their phones in other vehicles. I built a 12 to 5 volt adaptor for vehicular use.
Cons: Gets extrememly warm even when in 'standby' after a short ( 10 minute) period. I am concerned over this as it could conceivasbly catch fire. This concern limits my useage.
Other Thoughts: I have removed the end caps and installed a small DC fan to reduce the heatr build-up
Bottomline: This is an excellent value given the heat limitations. You will not find a better unit for the price.
Pros: + very powerful for it's price + overall well built + has infrared on/off control with a small remote included + can be operated with almost any remote control (in some cases it's a con)
Cons: -weak on/off button soldering (I don't use it anyway) -poor instruction from different model. No word in it about that I must use double click to on/off.
Other Thoughts: Got 30-35 meters GSM blocking radius inside a building with a high signal level. Any remote control can be used to on/off. It cycles on/off from double click on any button any remote I got. Eats ~3.8A 5V. ~3.2A with 3G amplifier/transmitter disconnected. I made a simple 5V/4A stabilizer on IRU1050 chip to let this device to work with a 2S Li:Po battery.
Bottomline: Best price/quality/power rating - ~1.8 US$ for each one meter of the block radius!
