Pros: Very good if you need to attach a small flash light to bike or somewhere else, or to carry extra battery to a bigger flash light
Cons: The picture shows the piece attached to the wrist, but it doesn't work, unless the wrist is of a small child. First, the curve (the opening) is too small) and second, the velcro strip is too short.
Other Thoughts: DX, you may wish to advise the MFG to add one extra (longer size / length) strip. Also, 90 degrees swivel parts could be a great addition
Bottomline: For the money, a worthy product!
Pros: I bought several of these a few orders ago. (Curse you DX... I'm going broke saving money!) They are simply fantastic. My primary use is on the front end of my Remington 870 shotgun. I shoot three gun matches and sometimes they are in low or no light situations. It's imperative to have a weapon-mounted light in that situation. The last time I shot, I put about three boxes (75 rounds) through the gun and the mount was no worse for the wear. The flashlight was still tight and hadn't shifted at all. For those concerned with recoil, I've shot 1oz slugs with the flashlight mounted with no problems. The mount held up and the recoil through a short barreled shotgun wasn't enough to cause the light to come into contact with the gun. With the way they attach around the mag tube, I get 270º of rotation around the bottom of the gun. They're also really quick to attach. In 15 seconds, I can attach the light to the mount and the mount to the gun. Simply a great product.
Cons: None for me really. It was $2 and does exactly what I need. I can see how a 90º option would be handy for some people with bikes though.
Other Thoughts: Well, I had three of the mounts and only two long guns that needed flashlights so I did the only reasonable thing. I bought another long gun. Seemed prudent really... didn't want the mount to go to waste and I'm not about to look like an idiot and attach a light to my arm.
Bottomline: What's to lose at the price? I chanced it and they're great.
Pros: Built well, "hook and loop" fasteners appear to be good quality. Block is not plastic but instead more rubbery.
Cons: Would be nice if DX would also offer this in the "perpendicular" model where they two troughs are offset 90 degrees from one another. I.E. you could then use this on bike handle bars.
Other Thoughts: Seriously why would you strap two flashlights together, or to your arm??
Bottomline: For the price the build quality is excellent and the fact that the body is flexible means it can accept an object with slightly bigger diameter than it looks like it would take.
Pros: I was looking for a mount to equip my new cross bicycle with battery lights. Most of the battery light sets I saw where to big, to expensive or did not match my needs in one or the other way.As I do not have too much room at the handlebar (already occupied with brake grips, gear switches, trip computer, GPSr), I wanted to use a multi LED flashlight I already owned a headlight (it uses AAA batteries, but I will soon swap it for an AA flashlight), and a red, flashing 3 LED light (with 2 AA batteries) that had just a clip, no special bike mount. I want to use the Eneloop AA batteries I already have, and I normally try to avoid items with other battery types - keep it simple. :-)So I had to install the headlight somewhere else, not on the handlebar. Already had an idea, and ordered three of this universal mounts to see if they would do the job as expected and planned.Well, as you can see in the photos above (would be nice to release them now, DX reviewer), both lights are now firmly mounted on my bike, but can also be taken off in a second. And if I want to swap the headlight for an AA unit, it is done in a snap.
Cons: None until now. Let´s see how the build quality is (in the long term) with a bit of rain and UV radiation.
Other Thoughts: Could also be used to mount other items on your bike, such as tools, spare tires or even smaller water bottles, and so on.
Bottomline: If you are using your bike regularly, get a few of this. I´m shure you will have a use for them. :-)See the photo above (when released by DX revier...)to learn about the dimensions of the mount (in Millimeters, as I am metric).
