Pros: Great sparks! Put some dry and thin paper below it (like newspaper, kleenex, kitchen paper) and before the 3rd spark you have a fire!
Build quality is hard! First time you scratch lightly fearing not to break it, but later you discover you have to scratch hard and it will last very long!

Cons: Lacks a user manual. I have to discover the use by myself. For the new users: Scratch some times over the black paint in the surface to remove it. When the bright inner material appears, put some very-dry paper under it, and scratch HARD towards the paper. You will get a fire very soon.

Other Thoughts: I hope you have no need to use it ever in real life. Mine is stored in my backbag.

Bottomline: Useful and easy to use once you learn how to.

Pros: Firstly, the sparks are very effective in lighting dried grass etc as they stay light for a short, but long enough as the magnesium burns away.

Cons: You have to wear down the layer of something that covers the magnesium to get sparks to start coming off but once you have worn down that layer, it's fine.

Other Thoughts: If you want to get the best sparks I recommend sttriking the magnesium with the other side of the sparker. Strike it as if you were left handed as this gives better sparks,

Bottomline: If you want a cheap, quite effective sparkler tool then this would be perfect. It may not be the best in the world but it does its job even if it does take some time.

Pros: This firestarter is truly awesome and work in any conditions.
In order to get a fire started you need to to have very dry tinder -
I'd recommend you carry some cotton wool balls - they light easily and burn for a few seconds - enough to get your fire going!

Cons: At first, I found the fire starter difficult to use, but when you get it, the fire starter can be a great buy.
The firesteel arrives with a black metal oxide coating that first needs to be scratched off, before the alloys can spark with a strike.
The correct technique is shown on the customer videos

Other Thoughts: Althought it is a knock-off from the original one, it is a really good thing to carry while walking in mountains or while camping.
The best thing about the fire starter is that it works in any weather conditions.
