Little cool flashlight with 9 bright LED bulbs. Construction is a little cheap when you take it apart, but it feels solid when you are holding it with batteries inside. It has long battery life and I am amazed by how low price it can be, given its performance.

Starting late September 2006, we switched to a better version of this 9 LEDs flashlight. It's made of thicker aluminum shell and brighter MCD rated LCD bulbs.

Very nice

This refers to the 'upgraded version'

I bought a couple of these to compare to the Ristoft (sp), which is a slightly longer 1w luxeon which takes the same 3 x aaa batteries.

This is the better buy.

Why? Well, firstly it's brighter. Not jaw-droppingly brighter, but especially at close-quarters you'll notice the difference, It has a similar spill pattern (wide) outdoors, and indoors this translates to lighting half a normal size room adequately. Secondly it's substantially shorter. It really is a torch you can put in your pocket and forget is there.

At the price, at time of writing, I recommend it. It's cheap, small, handy, and surprisingly bright. Also, I will go a bit further than the vendor and say that mine doesn't feel cheap. The tail-clicky is very clunky and solid - more so than on several much more expensive lights - and it's just a nice little bundle. If you're reading this close to christmas, buy a half dozen and give as gifts.

Nifty. 4 out of 5, for an ultra-budget light that is actually useful.

Pros: -They costs next to nothing.
-They work great.
-Metal construction is more then adequate for general use.
-Using standard batteries makes powering this thing easy enough anywhere.

Cons: -The tail cap is complete and utter garbage
-The tail caps sold on DX do not fit this light(they are 14mm, this looks to req. a 18mm or wider) so you'll have to learn to live with it.
-AAA's are easy to find, but still cost more and store less electricity than AA's. Would have been nice if they fit 3 AA's instead(widen the body if they have to)

Other Thoughts: My brother bought a 8LED light from a canadian hardware store for $15(plus $3 tax) that has the same form factor. The construction is a *bit* better, and the light output is about the same. For the same price I can buy 6 of these 9LED lights.

Bottomline: If you need some cheap lights to keep around and not have to worry about losing them, pick these up. Dramatically better then the cheap junk you'll find at brick and mortar stores for the same price. 2AA incandescent maglites cost $10 here, and put out less then half as much light as 1 of these.

Pros: It’s bright. The clicker works well so far (unlike some flimsy ones which I’ve seen on other torches). You can feel the weight when you hold it in your hands. Nice paint and colour as well. Value for money as well.

Cons: When dismantling the thing, you can see that construction is quite cheap. Uses 3xAAA batteries as well. Luckily it doesn’t guzzle up batteries. 9 LEDs is not considerably bright, but you get a 2-pack, so combine them and you get decent lighting.

Other Thoughts: I’ve mounted two of these on my bike and it’s bright. Good for night cycling. It also seems to be waterproof as well, so there’s no need to be afraid of any splashes or drizzle.

Bottomline: If you’re looking for some cheap torch lights, you won’t be disappointed with these. I might be getting a few more for my camping mates.

Ownership verified by DX Nice flashlight for a low price

Price: starstarstarstarstar
Ease of Use: starstarstarstarstar
Build Quality: starstarstarstar
Usefulness: starstarstarstarstar
Overall Rating: starstarstarstarstar

Pros: - BRIGHT
- Small size
- Waterproof at caps (not the lens)
- Long battery lifetime
- Lightweight
- Nice paint

Cons: - Threads wear pretty fast
- Paint goes off (with some effort)
- Too bright, no it's not a joke, in Europe we have rules stating light emitting devices on bikes cannot exceed certain amounts, so putting this on a bike is illegal because it can blind drivers on the road.
- Not completely waterproof, since the lensglass is loose

Other Thoughts:

Bottomline: These flashlight come per 2 which is neat, use one and keep one as a spare/backup, or give one to a friend, put it in your car, put it on your bike using sku.00792 or sku.13004 or sku.8274.

Pros: Very compact and super bright LED's. Much brighter than my MAG lite with D-cells. The metal case seems to be of ok quality.

Cons: The lenses of both flashlights were slightly scratched up and there was slight rust inside the cartridge unit that held the 3 batteries in place. This was not a big deal though as the lights it still worked fine.

Other Thoughts: Not sure about the water proofing on the light. One end doesn't appear to seal that well. Click is not bad. Very solid feeling.

Bottomline: Great value for two flashlights. You won't be disappointed. I told my friends how much I paid and now they all want one!!
