4/15/2006:This green laser pointer is no joke, and you should use it seriously. No matter what objects you are pointing at, you will see a solid green laser point on it. Its laser will shoot through any transparent or almost transparent object and carry on its way. It's also stunning to see the actual green laser beam beam at night. Its only trade-off is the relative higher cost and the green laser related questions coming from your friends, family, classmates, co-workers (trust me on that one). Can't wait to try out the forbidden 10mW, 20mW and 30mW.11/1/2006:The new 10mW model's green dot is significantly brighter and bigger than that of our original 5mw model's. Its beam is a lot more visible too. We now ask the manufacturer to provide perfect products and lens. We also hand test these units to make sure they are perfect before shipping. So the spillage problem should be resolved for shipment from now onwards.
(update) I forgot to post that starting a while ago the manufacturer has been putting in some pretty good quality alkaline AAA batteries in the gift boxes together with the laser. And that's really convenient as you can now start beaming at things right out of the box.
(notice about potential laser hazard) As discussed by Meduza and a few other fellows at our forums, this laser does not come with an IR filter. So for safety you should wear a protective glass when using the pointer.
Pros: -Very nice build quality. It feels good in your hands-Pretty bright (in the dark you can see the beam)-Comes with batteries-Great price !
Cons: Nothing to add here, but let's see how long it lasts..
Other Thoughts: My first buy from DX, and I'm pretty happy with it !It shipped in 11 days, which is decent..

Pros: Cheap! Like really cheap, these go for way more on other sites. It projects a very bright spot.
Cons: The beam is not very visible in daylight, but can be seen fairly clearly in the dark.As mentioned by others the warning sticker does peel off easily. But it is not an essential part of the toy, so who really cares.
Other Thoughts: It just a laser pointer, so I guess if you are in the market for laser pointers then this isn't bad for the price.Although now that I have it, I am not really sure why I wanted it, I must admit.I have not tried burning anything, popping balloons or lighting matches with it yet.
Bottomline: Decent build quality for very good price.
Pros: Very Bright !Planed to use it as star pointer for astronomy teaching ... well nobody can miss the green line.
Cons: Same as above ... be very carefull with this one. Inside use almost impossible because of the brightness.The build quality of the outside is fair. The inside feels a little 'cheap'... but the buying price is !
Other Thoughts: I plan to use it as a 'star pointer' for teaching friends a little astronomy. Perfect for that job, nobody can miss it even at 90° of the beam, and few meters away !For my use, pretty sure a 5mW would be enough.
Bottomline: Good product overall
Pros: -I LOVE THIS LASER THE DOT IS VISIBLE IN THE MORNING,17 STOREYS DOWN.-Disturbs people walking along the walkways,i even got one guy to jump and start running away-Chases away wild birds/cats on the streets.-Reflects road signboards very well,makes people around stop n stare at the signboard.-Range at night : 1-3KM
Cons: - The Laser warning sticker falls off easily,had to use double sided tape but the sides are still peeling(Im a fussy person about physical looks)-Button feels loose,like its going to fall out-The metal clip is too tight,cant clip on my shirt at all.
Other Thoughts: Making people look for the user is fun,and at night i can point to blocks 1km away from me with a awesome beam.But pointing at night means people can locate u cuz of the beam.Sadly my country's streetlights dont use sensors.Or else i could shut them off.
Bottomline: GET THIS!!!.Although i know im gonna receive a complain soon but i dont care wahahaha.But if you want to burn stuff get the 50mW for a few bucks more because this takes like 2mins to burn paper.
