Pros: - Cheap camera - Good built quality, really - Battery charges fast and lasts long - Lots of configuration options in the menu - Nice softwares (for Windows) - Really good resolution!!! - Outdoor pics becomes very very very beautiful - Small and compact (still with good res) - Works very well on Linux
Cons: - I had some troubles to turn on the camera in the firsts days of usage, but it's working very well now. Sometimes I still have a similar problem when I intensely use the flash; maybe it's something related to the battery. - If you mind on details, there's a strange but interesting texture in the photos, they look a little like paintings, but I don't really consider it as a defect, it's just different to what I'm used to. - My mother language is Portuguese, so I set the camera to the Portuguese language mode, but it was a hooorible Portuguese, fullfiled of errors and kiddy mistakes, very very poor.
Other Thoughts: - Of course it's not good for professional works, but for home use it's perfect! (for a cheap price...). - You won't get very small details, remember the specifications: "Focus Range: 1.2m to infinity". It doesn't have a macro lens. Also, the internal memory capacity is very limited, memory card recommended.
Bottomline: - I live in Brazil, and here we have very rigid importation fees. I had to pay about 50 dollars in taxes. So, for me, the price of this camera was the double the DX's price. And I'm really satisfied! If you live in a country whose importations fees aren't so high, be sure: you'll be making a VERY GOOD deal. - Here are some photos I took with this camera: http://www.panoramio.com/user/2048035 ... all were taken in the second worst resolution and in medium quality, I'll upload photos and videos made with the camera to DX soon.
