Pros: Extremely Usefull Product. It can be programed to use with any remote control, so you can use your own TV remote control to swith it On/Off.You can control any electronic product to turn on/off, like fans, ond tvs, Lamps, etc.
Cons: Instructions.I had to figure out how to do some things.
Other Thoughts: I bought one and plan to buy others. There is also another version on DX that uses RF, that would be better for higher distances or out of the line of view, but uses a specific Remote Control, what doesnt happen with this product.
Bottomline: Good to switch on and off old or simples electric products.Cheap and usefull.Other people that saw this product, got interested and bought some for them also.
Pros: If there was a higher usefulness rating than five, I would give it to this product. This is something you don't know you needed until you buy it. Plugs into any U.S. socket, in both directions. Hold the small button until the light flashes, then press any button on an IR remote and the socket will switch from on to off, or vice versa. Once the relay switches, you know the device is programmed. I have ordered three of these so far, and will probably order more. The outlet can also be switched by pressing the button.
Cons: Cheap. Very very cheaply made. The prongs feel cheap, and two-prong U.S. plugs will not fit well in the center. 3 prong plugs fit better. Very loose, and falls apart quickly if i move it (it is plugged into an extension cord).
Other Thoughts: I have two with a red light and one with a green light. I don't know if this means they are different, but they both work the same; perfectly. It may seem as though U.S. plugs cannot fit into the outer sockets, but they do. If you are having problems, flip the plug over and try again. A two prong plug will fit snugly in the outer outlets.
Bottomline: Most useful device I own. Buy a dozen, give them as gifts.Possible uses are endless. Very cheap IR learning chip, for remote electronics applications.
Pros: Interesting device, I am thinking to use it with the light switch. It worked well with several remote controls. Used with lamps and fans.
Cons: No instruction on how to program a new code (or the first code). Done by trial and error. Not a big con.
Other Thoughts: Could have a model kit to be adapted within the apparatus.
Bottomline: It is very nice. I wonder why the most modern equipment do not come with remote control. With the concept of control, we could only use one control set to connect and disconnect various equipment at home and even the lights.
