Pros: - Does the job properly- the build quaity is acceptable- easy to use, no need for instructions.- Accurancy is acceptable
Cons: - the arm is too filmsy, it definitelly needs a stronger built, it must be manipulated with some care otherwise u might break it.- accurancy is only acceptable
Other Thoughts:
Bottomline: Does the job, the price isnt that great compared to other stuff in DealExtreme, a bit flimsy but very useful if u have a lot of batteries, after all if this can save u a pack of batteries it pretty much paid itself.
Pros: Accurate enough for normal use.Works with AA and AAA batteries.Sure beat the little color changing battery testing strip thingy.
Cons: Labels are in German. May bother some people, but doesn't bother me.Can be a bit smaller. The arm doesn't slide very smoothly.
Bottomline: Very good purchase. I love this thing. Before I had this, I had no way to tell how much is left in a battery. I end up keeping a lot of used batteries around not wanting to waste any power that's left in them. But with this, I can now easily check them and throw away ones that are dead. It's quite compact compared to mutimeters, but would be nice if it was even smaller.
Pros: Can measure most major battery types.Small but with an easy to read display.
Cons: Very looseInaccurateVery finicky (doesn't always work)Has trouble reading 'D' cell batteries due to looseness.
Other Thoughts: When reading smaller batteries such as AA AAA C 9V, it reads them easily. But when trying to ready D cells, the top part has to be extended all the way, with the build being as loose as it is, there isn't always a good connection between the top bar and the rest of the battery meter. This thing is also inaccurate. I measured some AA batteries that were brand new, and it showed them in yellow. I later checked their voltages with a multimeter and they were perfectly fine. Sometimes when I measure completely dead batteries, it shows that they're still good (green). I know these batteries were dead, they wouldn't even work in a flashlight or a remote control. Not even a clock.
Bottomline: Cheap and small, but just too tempermental and inaccurate to warrant recommending it.
Pros: Does what it's made to do.
Cons: Obviously you get what you pay for, but talk about finicky! It's a bit too loose and obviously made of cheap plastic, but hey, like I said, does what it's made to do. Doesn't look like it'll check larger batteries as the platform is slanted.
Other Thoughts: Probably wouldn't hurt for the extension arm to be a tad stronger especially when it's the one part that gets moved the most. What's with the slanted platform though?
Bottomline: Meh, it's a cheap battery checker. Makes more sense to use this than my mini-battery-powered battery checker. That one is just ironic. This one works fine for about half the price. Even better since it's not battery-operated.
