Pros: - Works with any IR remote to turn on and off the plug- Perfect if you have a lamp by the TV and you don't want to get up to turn it on- Has the 3 prong plug in in the front and two 2 prong plug on the sides.
Cons: - The 2 prong plug on the sides don't quite fit the North American 2 prong standards where one is a little larger then the other. - Requires line of sight (LOS) for the IR to work. - If you have this plugged upside down to accommodate other plugs on the wall, it may not stay plugged in very well. - Instructions were in Simple (not Traditional) Chinese so it was a little difficult to program. Had to fiddle with it for a while before we got it working.
Other Thoughts: Not sure if any power is being used while the device is off. I assume it's just a little bit of power to monitor for IR signals.
Bottomline: Great Gadget to have especially around your multimedia device areas (since you'll have a remote around). Even though it requires Line of Sight (LOS), you can still get it from a good distance away. It's still easier then getting up, walking to the Lamp (or whatever device you have plugged in) and turning it on.
Pros: Cheap and very easy to use once it is programmed.
Cons: Need English programming instructions but other reviewers can tell you how to program it.
Other Thoughts: I had some trouble at first programming the outlet to work with my remote. What worked for me was to press the button to turn the LED on. Then press and hold the button which will turn off the LED. Once the LED turns back on release the button and the LED will flash. Finally press the button on your remote that you want to control the outlet with.
Bottomline: I have this turning on and off the rope lighting behind my projector screen. If I had other uses for it I would buy more. Cheap and does a great job. I can point my Pronto remote anywhere in the room and the outlet will pick up the IR signal.
Pros: It works. It's easy to use. 10A is a good current (127V * 10A = 1270W) *110V is in truth 127VActually, my 110V item was plugged and used in a 220V tension for all a day, and it's still working very well.
Cons: it's consumption (in standby, or turned on without a electronic plugged) is about 4W, wish is 2880W in a 30-day month, that is a 100W lamp working about 30 hours, or $0,70/month where I live (R$1,40~1,50 .. Brasil).
Other Thoughts: You plug it, turn it on by hitting the black buttom, than click and hold, and it will blink so you can record a infrared signal. It's very good, but i really don't like the 4W consumption.
Bottomline: Buy it if you don't care about the 4W. It's very usefull to your confort and it's easy to program
Pros: Works great(Portuguese)Funciona muito bem
Cons: Only chinese instructions(Portuguese)Instruções em chinês
Other Thoughts:
Bottomline: Works great, do what it is expected to do. Do not use together with the remote apliance. I don't know how much energy it use to work, but you can chance the plug and it will remember the comand to turn on/off.(Portuguese)Funciona bem, era o que eu esperava. Não use junto do aparelho do controle remoto. Eu não sei quanto de energia ele consome, mas você pode trocar de tomada e ele continuara aceitando os comandos para ligar e desligar
