Pros: I bought two of these a couple of years ago and they have served me well. Bluesoleil is craptastic, so I've succesfully used these with toshiba's bluetooth stack, widcomms/broadcomms stack, java bluetooth stacks, microsoft stacks etc. some driver hacking and you are good to go. My main use for bluetooth is using wiimote on computer and these work well. Greatest thing I found out was that these work directly with HP's photosmart printers with USB-port for bluetooth. Some "real" bluetooth-dongles don't work directly (You can make them work by first putting this dongle in, letting the printer to setup and then switching to the other dongle). The LED is not as annoying as those bright blue LED's in some other devices, just a nice red glow.

Cons: Build quality is good overall, but sometimes when I take the the dongle off, it falls apart, though it is easy enough to put it back together, you might want to put some glue or something between the plastic and the metal, for modding purposes the easy disassembly would be great. range could be a bit higher (maybe about 5m direct(!) line of sight), but for a device this size and price I'm satisfied. So not any real cons.

Other Thoughts: For windows 7 users, setting up is effortless, even wiimote works directly (just get glovepie) with xp, you might need some tinkering, but the curse of king Bluetooth has managed to spawn any number of guides.

Bottomline: Great, Buy, Over and Out

Pros: Very small, tidy little dongle with a decent range. Comes with BlueSoleil software.

Cons: Comes with BlueSoleil software. The pictures showed it came with Widcomm software, which is a MUCH better package. But the one I received had a little sticker over that saying BlueSoleil instead. This was a little disappointing.

Other Thoughts: I would like to see this bundled with Widcomm instead of BlueSoleil therefore unlocking all this little jewel's potential.

Bottomline: Very good dongle. Hardware-wise, it's a fantastic product at a great value. Software-wise, it's sufficient, but not outstanding. Either way, it is still a great deal for the money. Buy it!

Pros: This is as small as SKU 14255, which I bought last month. The main reason I also bought this one (for a dollar more) was to get the Widcomm software that the pictures indicate come with this SKU.

Cons: Unfortunately, the unit I received, did not come with the Widcomm software. Instead, the line "Legal widcomm software" on the liner, has been covered up with a sticket that says "Legal Bluesoleil software". And indeed, on the driver CD, it's BlueSoleil 2.6.0.9.

Other Thoughts: Now that this ships with BlueSoleil drivers, it's not really worth paying more for compared to SKU 14255. True, 14255 comes with BS2.6.0.8, a slightly older version, but such a minor version difference is insignificant, and this one is technically +17% more expensive.

Bottomline: If 14255 is out of stock, then you can consider this one... otherwise, if you're hoping to get Widcomm drivers, then this one no longer comes with it.
