Pros: 8 mm lens can be used to extend the optical sensor components such as IR transcievers, LDRs or photodiodes and photo transistors. High quality clear plastic manufacturing. One side is convex while the other side is flat.

Cons: Hard to handle due to its small size

Other Thoughts:

Bottomline: If you need to increase detection range in an optoelectronic application this no-cost lenses are primary candidates. If you are a DIYer, engineer, scientist or student do not hesitate to spend a few bucks on this. What you get will be far beyond your expenses.
