3/28/2006 Staff wrote:Picture quality on these webcams are fine when there is enough light, but the images will get noisy during the night time (just like other webcams with CMOS/CCD sensors). Frame rate on the 1280*960 resolution at 1.3 mega pixel will drop to about 15fps on a 2.0Ghz CPU desktop. In addition, the "face hunting" feature allows you to zoom into people's face automatically.
Pros: Nice design, very strong light can be dim by potentiometer. If you do not need the camera, it can be used as a lamp! The price is very good! Following the implementation quality in proportion to the price of good.
Cons: I bought three and one bad byj thread on the lens. Screwed him more strength and function.
Other Thoughts: For home use is an excellent camera, which is enough for normal function (Skype, ICQ ...). Children like best that you can light up the camera in the nursery and is said to be pretty small.
Bottomline: In conclusion, I would say only that the camera is small, very light, easy to handle it and that price is definitely worth to buy. I wanted to sell and no left me, (he is dismantling the family), I have to buy them more!
Pros: - plug and play - comes with a cd with the drivers on it - a must have for only 5 bucks.. - looks better than some built in webcams on laptops - oh nd just to mention only took 2-3 mins. to set up the whole thing.
Cons: there rlly isnt none.. but the picture is a little flimsy but look down on the page to my bottomline nd you'll see how to fix all that.. im loving this cam. nd it doesnt come with a mic. so you can buy one off this site for about $2.80.. i ordered the mini clip on.. SKU 7080
Other Thoughts: cd that came with it. it just downloaded the drivers to my xp computer. then i plugged it in. then recognizes it as that driver then you're good.
Bottomline: must get one. the picture is a lil flimsy. but u can fix that by setting contrast, hue, saturation nd all those other settings they have.
Pros: DRIVERS,DRIVERS the is insain. i have purchused 3 of these cams and others , but i can never read the cd's that come with any of dealextreme cd drivers . using windows 7 is ok but if u use XP different story. i myself have no issue testing driver to find one that works . but not everyone feels safe doing so. i gave one to my daughter but she nor her boyfriend can find a driver for Xp. PLEASE POST A LINK FOR A XP DRIVER FOR THIS WEBCAM.
Cons: windows 7 plug and play.
Other Thoughts: Any other OS , CD driver issue's
Bottomline: Excellent deal. Try with fisheye lens.
Pros: Very affordable, small with clip and variable led output. You can adjust the focus by rotating the lens from relatively near to infinity
Cons: The light sensitivity is very poor, even with the leds in "on" position. Image is very grainy and refresh rate is very slow. You can forget about any decent night time usage, event with the leds (unless you want to look like a washed out gost figure).
Other Thoughts: Field of view is quite narrow, but this can easily be fixed with SKU 22880 "Jelly Lens Wide Angle/Fish Eye"
Bottomline: This will not replace any built in laptop webcam, but for the price it is OK. You can use it for example if you need to stream a webcam and point it in a different direction than your own face.
