Pros: Brought my ATI Sapphire HD3650 from 58c idle to 49c. Loaded @ 100% using furmark I noticed a drop of 11c from 64c (stock hsf) to 53c. I ran the load test for 30 mins for accuracy. Sound level in my HTPC decreased to an unnoticeable level as experienced from my couch (~10 feet away)
Cons: Metal parts were covered in machining oil which had to be ceaned off before use.Build quality is okay but not great. Screws holding the unit together were biting into thin metal therefore making it really easy to strip them.I had to lap the base (this is with most aftermarket heatsinks.
Other Thoughts: This cooler is currently in the following system:Antec NSK2480 case, matx gigabyte 780g mobo, amd 4850e chip, sapphire hd3650 gpu, 2gb crucial ddr2 6400, 2x wd6401aals, 32" 720p LCD.This system has surpassed my expectations for a HTPC and the cooler was the icing on the cake.I recommend staying away from the thermal grease that accompanies the heatsink. I used arctic silver ceramique.
Bottomline: For the hd3650 or similar cards, I can highly recommend this cooler. It quieted down my pc to a desireable level and dropped 9-10c from my idle and load temps, across the board.
Pros: - Good Price.- Good build quality for the price.- Comes with thermal grease (i used another).
Cons: None i can think. This is a cheap item that will do its job.
Other Thoughts: This is a good heatsink for the price. With the stock cooler my 8800GS was a noisy and hot vga. With this cooler it idles at 45º(same before) and loads at 69º(6 less then with the stock cooler.)
Bottomline: I brought just because the stock cooler of my 8800gs was TOO loud. So i just dont care about the temps, as my stock cooler was ok with it.Great job DX. I had my item at home in 5 business days.
Pros: This is a great heatsink for the price. With the stock cooler my Radeon HD 4850 idled at around 80 degrees Celsius. With this cooler it idles at 45 degrees Celsius. It comes with a small amount of thermal grease.
Cons: I had to modify the fan's power connector in order for it to work. I had to shave some of the plastic off the connector so it could fit. It's not that big of a deal though.
Other Thoughts: It's unbelievable how much better this is than the stock cooler on a Radeon HD 4850 (approximately 35 degrees Celcius at idle). Installing the heatsink was very simple.
Bottomline: Buy this if you have a video card that's running hot, it's cheap and is superior to most stock coolers.
