Pros: - Cheap- Does rise the sound level a little- Nice box
Cons: - Mediocre sound quality- Far from rated power boost- No volume control, always on max- Very poor shielding- Strange battery handling
Other Thoughts: Comes in a very nice, high quality looking box. The booster itself looks OK, and is glued shut (but I opened it anyway).
Bottomline: This one was a mistake! The amplifier looks OK in it's plastic form, and so does the box. But it stops there. The sound quality is mediocre, far from what many other boosters can do. The boost level is far from what is rated. My 2x18mw iRiver produces as much gain as this one, and with much better control. And yes, I have given it a high enough in-signal ;) WARNING!! It's unshielded. So, if you're planning to use it with a mobile phone, it may pick up those beep beep noises. since the sound level is always on max, this will produce an extremely loud noise into your ears. Happened to me, and my ears was ringing afterwards. tested this with three different mobile phones. it picked up all three. It has no volume control. This means that it's always on max. Not good for battery life, and not good at all for signal noise. It uses a single AAA, this is good. But, that also limits it's power boost. A 3.6v booster should deliver more boost, with better control. One strange thing; When the battery power gets low, the output (or the led) doesn't get weaker. In stead it simply shuts off at times, and starts again to continue. If you don't care about good sound quality, don't plan to use it with (or near) a mobile phone and need a little power boost, this may be for you. For the rest of you, stay away!
Pros: Everything! It provides great sound quality, a boost in volume and a bit more in the low end. And at this price it really can't be beat. Great build quality, no worries about putting it in your pocket. And it's tiny so it can go anywhere.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: I bought this a bit before the E5 came out. And I think that the E5 is a steal for the price that it is on here. But if you just want something cheap and don't need the extra features buy this one.
Bottomline: It's compact, sounds amazing, and it's cheap... buy it!
Pros: It amplifies volume by a little (so lower energy consumption on your mp3 player) on on almost every headphones it shows some improvement. It works good with Philips She-9500 , Koss The plug and finally on my AKG K-530 it works wonders. Absolute must for any headphones that somewhat lack bass
Cons: No power switch - you have to plug out your headphones to turn it off
Other Thoughts: Headphone jack might get damaged by constant plugging your phones in and out
Bottomline: One of the best ways to spend 7 bucks
Pros: Amplyfies the input into alot clearer and louder output.Really boosts bass and makes my ipod earphones sound alot more expensive. It has a Apple style design which goes nicely together with my iPod :)Also its very lightweight and small.
Cons: No power off button (Dont really know if its taking power all the time or not)Nothing more bad about it.
Other Thoughts: 500chars...500chars...500chars...
Bottomline: Cheap, Better music for your mp3 player of choice and got a nice apple style design.
