Beware - Does not work with iphone 3G

Pros: It comes in a nice box and the cables are white and clean and look very professional.  It's too bad it just doesn't work with the iphone 3G - very disappointing especially when the description says that it does.
 
Cons: Does not work with iphone 3G at all!  Waste of time and money if you have an iphone 3G.
 
Other Thoughts: It is crazy that I need to type 500 characters in order to post a review to tell folks that this cable is not compatible with iphone 3G.  It really does not work at all.  DOA.  Nada.  Zip. Ziltch.  NoGo.  Fail. etc. etc.
 
Bottomline: Don't buy it if you want to use it with an iphone 3G.

Pros: - Audio out works great (it uses the line out of the ipod dock)
- It charges from *any* USB connector.  Unlike every other USB->dock cable I have used (which require a computer), this cable will allow charging from anything with a USB plug.
This cable was the perfect solution for a under-the-dash car integration.  Just add a 12V->USB converter (I disassembled one intended for the cigarette lighter), and wire it up.
 
Cons: Video out does not work for me either (not relevant to my intended purpose, though).
 
Other Thoughts:  
Bottomline: Works great (with the exception of the video out)

Pros: It works, quality is OK, (I use an iPod Classic 80GB) used it on my Full HD TV and it seems that the only quality issues are compression related. The USB charge option is nice.
 
Cons: It says component on the box, and it's composite. Need to reconnect from now and then for it to work, but it could be my dock connector.
The USB charge connection works just like a usb cable, so I can't use it with my netbook to charge unless I disconnect it...
 
Other Thoughts: Could have been longer.
 
Bottomline: Very recommended for picture slide show, less for video. (because of the iPod maximum compression values)
