Pros: -Decent price for a great light-Very bright-Takes 1x18650 for rechargeability and runtime.-Takes cr-123 for storage or stand-by.-Comfortable in the hand.-Small compared to most cr123 powered lights.-Pocketable.-Easily upgradeable.
Cons: -Only con I have is that on the first one I had gotten, I tried it with 2xrcr123=8.4 on a MM. Acceptable voltage is rated at 3.6-9.0. It lit up brightly then quickly dimmed. The rcr's had fried the emitter even though voltage was in the acceptable range. DX happily replaced it for me, but I will never try 2-rcr's again.
Other Thoughts:
Bottomline: One of my favorites, and continue to use it well after a year of getting it. I'm just gonna stick to using cr123's and 18650's. No more rcr123's.
Pros: This light is simple to use, just pop in a 18650 or 2 c123's. It has a good blend of throw and great circle of usefull spill. Good Sturdy constructin with nice feel for end clicky.
Cons: The bezzle would not come off as it is glued or something and I got an 19650 stuck in the light and had to shim it out with a screwdriver ruining the battery and scratching the light finish. But the light still works the same.
Other Thoughts: I put some glow power epoxy under the reflector around the cree and it kind of glows now to see it at night. Good all around light.
Bottomline: Buy it for a classic or wait for the Q5s to come down in price.
Pros: Typical bright C2 offering with nice tight hot spot and plenty of spill. Runs well on 18650's and lasts forever without getting warm. Fit and finish are even and clean. Throws nicely without sacrificing close range spill thanks to the wide reflector.
Cons: The current rear clicky offered is cheaply made and can't compare to previous offerings. One of three developed a flicker which, thankfully, was easily remedied with a little soldering. Have a Q5 1 mode that has the same switch which also had flickering issues. The cheap switch problem needs to be addressed before it's too late and this fine light loses interested buyers.
Other Thoughts: Just big enough to be useful as a defensive tool if needed, and yet small enough to drop into a cargo pocket or fit on a belt. Good sized tactical light that can take abuse with ease.
Bottomline: A good choice for a light that fits a variety of niches; if Ultrafire would go back to the more robust clicky and get away from this overly fragile seeming, sensitive switch, they could continue to have an avid following with the different emitter offerings.
Pros: I was very impressed by the ammount of light put out by such a small flashlight. I bought the handlebar mount and it works great for mountain biking at night.Lights up the trail for any speed, good range good spread. I've bought them for friends.
Cons: Clicky switch is a little week feeling but it works.Rechargeable Battery lasts about 45 min. so buy extras, they weigh almost nothing so you can carry spares and get in 2-3 hours of night riding.
Other Thoughts: If I had buoght this first, I'd have saved megabucks spent on a NITEPRO bike light, and not had to carry the extra weight.
Bottomline: I love mine, get your own.
