Pros: This speakers are really cute.
It's great that they have built-in battery, so you don't need external batteries to power it.
The overall build quality is good, even if it's not perfect.
Cons: The sound when the volume is loud it's sometimes distorted.
One of the three I bought had the paint dribbled.
There is no indications for full battery charge.
Bottomline: For the price is good, you can easily gift to friends.
It's really cute and even if the quality is not perfect it works.
Perfect for Linux users and pinguin's maniacs, but also for kids.
Linux fans delight

Pros: Its a efin penguin, how awesome is that? Its compact, its built somewhat well, and its cute. It has almost a rubberized feel to the surface, which makes it unlikely to slip.
Cons: I got this for my wife (who is an avid Linux user / fan) because her laptop speakers are not very loud, and the penguin speaker is not much louder than her laptop speakers (HP). She got a macbook recently after her 2 yr old HP died and the mac speakers are much louder than the penguin. The speaker is in the back, which means for optimal sound output, the penguin must be facing away from you (sort of sad).
Other Thoughts: Probably best used for netbooks or mp3 players, but do not expect serous sound amplification. Its not 2 penguins, which would give stereo sound and make it generally overall much more effective.
Bottomline: Its a great gift for any linux fan. It wont let you down (its built well). Dont buy if you want it to out play macbook speakers, or if you are a linux hater (besides how can you hate linux really?).
Good sound quality for the price

Pros: - Very Loud with a little distortion for the size.
- Quality speaker inside.
- Good plastic.
- Really portable.
Cons: Not perfect paint, too thin cords. Noises when turned off and plugged into USB port.
Cords are too short. No "charge complete" display.
Some scratches on bottom.
Other Thoughts: Could be cheaper. Would buy more if price was 5-7 USD.
Same as described.
Bottomline: Will buy again as present. Compact, easy to use and nice. Very useful for outdoor small parties!!! :)
A must-have for Linux lovers.
Good penguin!

Pros: Of course, the best part of this thing is its shape. Penguin! As I am a fan of Ubuntu Linux I had to buy it, just for having. It works enough good and it is built normally.
Cons: Sound is not very good, but loud. There are some noise when it works close to notebook or computer. Probably it is due to magnetic pickup. Of course it plays only one channel.
Other Thoughts: It would be cool to have the toy dancing or jumping during playing!
Bottomline: The good present for linux lovers, penguin fans or kids. I think you should not buy this item if you like clear sound.
