We learned our lessons from the DX Cree light and despite of many fellows asking for this we have intentionally delayed the availability of this custom made product to ensure production quality matches prototypes and test samples. Now here it is, the cool looking and energy saving LED light bulb.

These are pretty bright, espeically the 48 LED+ versions. All custom built with 18,000MCD emitters. This replaces just any of the regular bulbs and they start working right away. No special adaptor, convertor, wiring or circuitry is required to use them -- just twist them on.

In addition, you may know that we have previously carried LED bulbs but were withdrawn due to reliability issues. That's about a year ago now. And between that time we have been working on improving this brilliant idea by getting directly involved in the design and production process. All DX bulbs are shipped pre-tested to ensure reliability and that all emitters are working properly. These are really bright so give them a try!

Brightest Desk Lamp Bulb Seen So Far

Pros: Great light and spread for average desk lamp use, and gives a very white output. Very straightforward to install and set up, and all the LED bulbs are working perfectly.
 
Cons: Not very useful for rooms, or any lights needed for larger areas. Also not very pleasant to look into, they're really bright.
 
Other Thoughts: Great for tabletops, not great for rooms.
Packaging came in a semi-crushed paper box, inside a bubble envelope. This is probably why most people are having some LEDs DOA.
 
Bottomline: Would buy again.

Works great, worth the money.

Pros: It's bright enough for use in a desk lamp. It's well-built and I find the color of light to be acceptable.
 
Cons: The light is white with a slight bluish tinge. If you are accustomed to a yellowy incandescent then you might not like the color of light that this bulb produces.
 
Other Thoughts: I originally delayed my purchase of this LED light, primarily because of the numerous negative reviews both here and at other retail websites. Now that I own one I am very happy with it and I regret not buying one earlier. I hope it lasts.
Also: My Kill-a-Watt meter says the bulb only uses 1 watt but I suspect it's a bit more.
 
Bottomline: Buy it.

Pros: this is a cool light
it is good for homework
doesn't get hot.
Not too bright
looks cool
good quality
 
Cons: do not fit into it. The head was too wide, even though the screw part is fine. I had to get a different lamp housing.
it is not good to let a whole room unless you have several
lights isn't perfectly white, but has a hint of blue
 
Other Thoughts: it's a neat light and it's the right color of lights that I wanted for reading. Just be sure to know that it doesn't cast a lot of light
 
Bottomline: the this is a cool light so buy it if you want to buy it after reading my description

Pros: Good quality construction
Excellent light output
Direct screw in replacement for incandescent bulb
Will operate at any temperature outdoors
Extremely low power consumption
Does not seem to attract insects!!

Other Thoughts: This technology needs to be promoted quickly. With the worlds energy needs ballooning out of control, every way we can find to conserve needs to be exploited. This is one that is in my opinion way under developed. Why?
 
Bottomline: Buy them, enjoy the ability to forget and leave the light on
