Pros: -> The build quality is really good. It surely doesn't look cheaply made.
-> It really plays every RMVB file I throw at it. Other file formats play well except for one AVI file I have but then I haven't payed enough attention to the video's codec or screen resolution before trying it. Overall it really does what's advertised.
-> The sound and video quality are excellent and it was an unexpected surprise because some of the downloaded RMVB files were very small and compressed. The sound is clear and is always in sync with the video.
-> The remote control. This one is nicely built and it was one of the best I've seen among similar products. The rubber buttons and hard plastic which the remote is made with is a relief to the fingers. No issues with the distance from device either.
-> Very stable. I could watch three movies in a row with no problems at all. In fact, the device doesn't get hot to the touch which is a good sign.
-> Totally plug & play. I just plug my USB stick or memory card and in a couple of seconds it's ready to use. I haven't tried using an external hard drive yet.
-> Two USB ports are a welcome feature.

Cons: -> The description on the box is a bit misleading as there are not only information for this model but to other models and can be confusing to know what you media player really does.
-> During the first 10 minutes or so, there are some horizontal scanlines on the screen (nothing that prevents you from watching the movie) but they go away once the device heats up.
-> Sometimes you have to point the remote directly to the media player for it to work.

Other Thoughts: The scanlines are the only issue I see with it. This and the fact that it doesn't get overheated is a welcome feature because you can watch lots of movies without being worried about.

Bottomline: For the price, it's the best media player you can find. The remote control is better than the tiny ones from the more expensive Diyomate.

Pros: Great price. A good device to have if you like to watch all your rmvb/avi files on TV.

Cons: I've brought a few of these. The first one came is perfect. Can read Chinese, others (5) didn't. That's not the biggest issue.
The problem I have with the other ones are the initial setup. It was set to PAL so when I hook up to my TV, the screen skips (some even just gave me a black screen). Luckily I have my first one working so I write down all the buttons I have to press to get it back to NTSC.

Other Thoughts: Loading time for my 500GB harddrive is pretty good. To elimilate loading time, organize your files or pictures in folders. First time I use it, it takes forever to load my 1000+ pictures but now I organize them in different folder so it doesn't have to load so many at once.

Bottomline: It's a great device, if you ever got one hook up and it gives you a black or juming screen (when you think you got everything hook up correctly), try the following before returning it:
1. Turn machine and tv on
2. press "setup" on the remote
3. Press the down button 6 times (which should get you to the TV system setting)
4. Then press the left or right button once, and then OK
5. Repeat step 4 until you get a picture.
Good luck!

Bottomline: Overall, I am very happy with this item.I no longer needed to connect my laptop to TV for playing .rmvb files. This is better compared with SKU14502.
