Pros: This is a robust little gear puller. The set screws are large enough to prevent stripping, and the base allows you to use it on many sizes of shafts. The base even has a thin side for those pinions close to the motor case, and a thick side for those farther away.It is much sturdier than the comparable GWS puller.
Cons: None yet. I put a little oil on the threads to make it quieter.
Other Thoughts: Definatly a keeper in my toolbox.
Bottomline: If you use press on pinions, you need this tool to get them off in one piece!
Pros: - universal- not very expensive- box included
Cons: - the thinest thimble broke just after taking it out off the box- the shape of the foam filler inside the box could be better designed (puller parts do not fit in too well and it is hard to take them out off and put back into the box)
Other Thoughts: Thimbles:- 2.78 x 10 mm (flat step)- 1.82 x 11 mm- 1.70 x 6 mm- 1.76 x 10 mm (flat step)- smallest one broken, can't measureThimbles are magnetic
Bottomline: Usefull tool but build quality could be better.
