Pros: It just works! I am using it to watch Cable TV (Sky) here on Brazil on my 19" LG LCD. Connect the RCA from the cable converter and then connect by the VGA Cable (supplied) to my monitor.
 
Cons: * It needs to receive a NTSC signal (PalM won´t work)
* Needs USB powered, but using sku 4837 will permit to turn it on AC Power.
* It will only get on 800x600 on normal RCA input. Any more than this will make the lcd flicker.
 
Other Thoughts: (Portuguese translation) 
Funciona mesmo! Uso este adaptador para assistir o sinal da Sky em um LCD de 19" da LG e funciona muito bem. Se quiser ligar o adaptador na tomada, recomendo comprar o item sku 4837, ai dá para ligar direto em 220v. 
Resolução máxima que consegui foi 800x600, mas já ficou muito bom.
 
Bottomline: Small, simple to use, and it works. Use it to convert any RCA / SVIDEO / VGA signal to VGA out (used by monitors).

Pros: Looks like cheap but works very fine and is very tiny.
You could choose several definitions from 640x480 to 1280x1024.
 
Cons: Need a usb port for supply (not a problem for me as I have a laptop near)
 
Other Thoughts: I don't know if a console game like a Wii could be connected with this product but I think it's possible on the RCA plug (like my dvd player).
 
Bottomline: I've no television, only a PC monitor (not very large but very good definition) and this product helps me connect to it on the VGA plug :
- my laptop with a VGA cable,
- my dvd player with a RCA cable.
