Ownership verified by DX Good buy for the price

Ease of Use: starstarstar
Build Quality: starstarstarstar
Usefulness: starstarstarstarstar
Overall Rating: starstarstarstar

Pros: Charges most types of batteries.
Works OK if you understand what are you doing.
Have external thermal sensor.
Nice design.
Ease to use (menu is OK, Buttons too).
Has sound alarm

Cons: Transistor is not thermally connected to case (discharging with more than 2A at 4V (8W) can overheat the transistor and destroy it.
Voltage readings differ about 10% from real values.
Not included balancing cables.
Not included mains adapter.
End Voltages for Pb are too high and don't know how to change them.
Poor documentation, mostly for pinouts.

Bottomline: If you want cheap and good charger, then buy it. At least you have to add thermal paste betwwen transistor and case, for better reliability use a screw. For use at home you will need mains adapter, which is not included (out 12-18V, 1-5A depending on charging current you will use)

Ownership verified by DX Really useful charger

Pros: - Universal charger (the last charger you will probably ever need)
- Very useful if you have many types of batteries
- Includes thermal sensor
- Solid build quality
- 50W of charging power
- Time, capacity and temperature charging end points

Cons: - User manual in poor English and too short
- Charger not intuitive to figure out (bad combo with con N1)
- Overcharged my NiMH battery pack so you have to use time/capacity/temp limits

Other Thoughts: - Very useful for fast recharge of power tools which usually come with measly chargers (unless of course you buy the most expensive ones)
- I have recieved the second revision of the charger because it says REV02 on the board and components are laid out differently than in previous customer videos. I hope it solves some of the problems that were mentioned in previous reviews. I have no problems so far except for overcharging brand new battery pack on one occasion.
- I suggest buying flat rare earth magnet discs with this. They allow for easy "daisy chaining" of batteries and attachment of connectors so you dont have to use special holders etc. This way you can charge AA, AAA, 18650 etc.

Bottomline: If you need it - buy it. Just remember to buy DC power adaptor for it. I used one from an old IBM laptop - it works flawlessly.

Pros: Charges variable batteries. Shows voltage, controlls the circuit before charging.

Cons: At first it was a little difficult to understand how to operate with it, but after some time you'll understand how to set different charging programms. THE BIGGEST CON is that in PRODUCTION DESCRIPTION was mentioned AC to DC adaptor, but it is not included in the package !!!!! Regarding to the pics there is no adaptor at all. So i had to find myself the adaptor. Connections are not for all types of batteries. It can charge LiPo batteries but no adapter for this type of batteries included so I had to make new connections ...

Other Thoughts: But it still worth the price. Such charger costs 100-120$ in my country so i am happy for gaining same item but cheaper.

Bottomline: Be ready to find yourself an adaptor.

Ownership verified by DX Would be nice if it came with plugs to make up bal

Pros: Charges most things. I've even charged a car battery with it - albeit somewhat slowly. With a bit of ingenuity making up battery holders it can be persuaded to charge most things though a lower current option for small capacity cells would be nice.

Cons: Manual is confusing and a poor print job - the pictures are hard to make out. Nor does it do a very good job of explaining things. And it would help a lot if I didn't need a magnifying glass to read it at all.
Heat dissipation ought to be better.

Other Thoughts: The buzzer is VERY loud - but it can be turned off. Personally I prefer to leave it on on general safety grounds.

Bottomline: Non-working USB port is a pity. Would be nice if it was usable for logging stuff. Not a deal breaker though. Charges things just fine, replaced quite a lot of other chargers.
