Pros: +cheap+small and not so heavy+you can control your home from anywhere and anytime as long as you have gsm supply.+practical
Cons: -build quality is not very good: the item opens easy and one can see the inner workings.-inserting of sim is a bit difficult -it does not work straight at the first call. sometimes you have to phone up to ten times to get through and be able to listen.-the sound is a bit too noisy (my meaning)
Other Thoughts: I wonder it the item has an "expiry date": inside was a sticker with 11.09.10. So it will works just for one and a halve year?
Bottomline: Nice item if it would work at the first call.Maybe I will buy another one of theese.
Pros: * Easy to set up - just put a registered SIM card in it and call the number.* Decent battery life - I have used it for about 1.5 hours listening without recharging but it could probably run for longer.* Small - could be (and has been) taped under a table or put in a drawer and unnoticed.* Charge time - full charge is no longer than the average small cell phone battery.* AMAZING volume - it was so clear for me. The sound quality was decent but the volume was right up and could hear quiet sounds such as paper moving very clearly.* Mini-USB port for charging - Makes it really easy to get a replacement cable (see other thoughts)
Cons: * Build quality - dodgy outer casing is plastic and flimsy.* SIM card didn't stay in right away. I popped the case open and took out the circuit and popped it in like that before sealing it back up.
Other Thoughts: * I was actually supplied with the wrong charging cable (not usb to mini-usb). Not sure if this is a frequent occurrence or not.
Bottomline: * A good buy for the price.
Pros: I've tried every GSM bug that DX does. The first generation has awful audio quality. The second was infinitely better, and smaller, but a little more expensive. However, this 3rd generation one is on the button! The audio quality rocks, the presentation is great - there's no dodgy spare battery and faux solar cell on the back, and it accepts the sim card without fear of the sim-card support breaking off and falling inside the unit.To top things off, it's smaller than the rest and about $20 cheaper. If you want to bug people/track vehicels etc. then this is the one to buy from DX.
Cons: There are no cons to this unit. It's all I would expect from something of this price.
Other Thoughts: I'm not sure what the battery life of this unit is. But standby time seems to be a good few days and I expect about an hour or two of conversation from it, which for it's size is perfectly adequate.Reception appears to be very good as well; better than my mobile phone!
Bottomline: It's cheap, well-made and ultimately has better audio quality than the others on this site, so I'd recommend it to anyone.
