Pros: Build quality is GOOD and has FUSE to protect from overload / short circuit. _
Cons: After measure output with multimeter it seem when engine started voltage go around 13.5-14v and 12-13v when engine turn off, so it NOT REGULATED or have any regulator in this product. _
Other Thoughts: The cord come in STRAIGHT THROUGH not CURLY like the picture from DX. But I don't think it's Pro or Con. _
Bottomline: So if you use this product be sure to TURN OFF the ENGINE before used. _
Pros: The same product from Asus cost 10X the price and does the same. The outpput voltage is regulated, so to all the other reviewers who worried about the input voltage varying - stop worrying.
Cons: None that I can see
Other Thoughts: Buy one if you have an EEEPC, as another thought we should be able to post revievs of less that 500 words - sometimes you only need two words t say "EXCELLENT PRODUCT"!!!
Bottomline: Very well made and nicely finished off, well worth the 5 bucks it costs, I bought the extended life battery pack at DX as well, and this is also excellent
Pros: The adaptor is well built and fused. Cable length is adequate and connector does mate with (in my case) the ASUS PC 900 portable computer. It is convenient to have in the parked, idling vehicle and charge the battery OR power the ASUS PC when waiting for the "better half" (wife) or children to come out of the stores. Can also be used with external 12 VDC "Utility" Battery packs when away from any AC Power.
Cons: As of this time, I cannot find any grossly serious complaint or "con" to mention. It is recommended, however, that the adaptor be used on the ASUS PC's ONLY wnen vehicle is idle or not charging the car battery, as the car battery can exceed ASUS input voltage constraints.
Other Thoughts: Very handy and will supply the 3 Amps needed.
Bottomline: Understanding that the prudent input-voltage should not exceed ~13 VDC, it is well worth the price!!!
Pros: This thing works fine with my EEE900. An earlier (eBay) purchase was failing on me, at three times the price, but this thing does what it says on the box. Comes with a built-in fuse that is user-replacable.
Cons: The curly cable is bit annoying, rather had a straight one so it could sit flush on my desk.
Other Thoughts: Haven't opened it yet to see what lives inside as part of it seems glued shut. Hope it's more than a shiny red LED and fuse!
Bottomline: Good value for your EEE900. Add a 12 volt lead-acid battery and you have a very cheap extended battery for your EEE.
