Pros: This is a universal bike mount made for the new style flashlights that hold CR123a, 18650, etc. style batteries. It fits very well on the handle bars of the ATV's and make it a lot brighter. It is very rugged for the price, and does not fall off with the rough terrain.
Cons: Some tail caps might have to be removed on flashlights to fit in properly, but can be put back on once it is in the holder.I can tell you there are no other problems with this bike mount at all.
Other Thoughts:
Bottomline: If you are looking for a fantastic handle bar mount for your bike, ATV, UTV, or any other application, this is the one you want.It is very sturdy, and made of good quality plastics. It does not break when you go to tighten the mount on the bar, or on the flashlight. It also does not move from the spot you put it, unlike other mounts.
Pros: Cheap adaptor to allow you to mount a torch as a bicycle light. With the ridiculous amount of cheap, powerful torches here on DX you can get yourself a really powerful bike light for a very cheap price. No tools required for use is handy so you can pull it off the bike and take it with you to stop scumbag thieves from thieving it when your bike is parked and locked.
Cons: Other users have reported the plastic is too brittle. It does seem to be pretty rigid but I haven't had a problem and I think with sensible/careful use it should last fine. If you are the heavy handed type who like to go ripping their torch out and smashing it back in the holder then maybe this isn't for you...
Other Thoughts: The only other alternative I could think of to mount a torch was a pair of hose clamps looped together in a figure 8 - one around the handle bar and one around the torch. The hose clamp option is cheap but ugly, a pain to fit and remove and can damage handle bars and torch.
Bottomline: Get one if you have the need, its cheap and it works.
Pros: Holds Flashlight easily.Easy adjustment.Looks and feels sturdy.
Cons: Rubber inserts will come loose if there is nothing in the holder. (Those are the grips that hold the flashlight)Bracket portion that holds onto the handlebars does not open up wide enough. In order to put the clamp on you must put it on from the ends of your handlebars. PITA if you have grips anad such glued on.
Other Thoughts: Would be nice if the bottom bracked used a different mount for easier attachment.
Bottomline: Works fine once it's on there.
Pros: Holds my new Aurora AK-P7-5 flashlight perfectly. Firmly holds the flashlight but you can quickly pull the flashlight out of the mount to use as a self defense tool.
Cons: I had to use a thinner rubber shim for the handlebar. No big deal, I just cut a new strip of rubber for an old bicycle inner tube. It's not really a con. If your a cyclist that rides at night then you'll have an old inner tube you can cut. You could also use tape as well.
Other Thoughts: Mounts your 18650 flashlight on your bike easy. It even looks nice! Makes it look like your flashlight was made just for bicycle use.
Bottomline: If you want to use a 18650 powered flashlight on your bicycle this mount makes it so easy and it's inexpensive.
