Ownership verified by DX Perfect for my all around use

Pros: I like the 3 levels of output as well as the 0-100% adjustment. I'm happy that it doesn't have the useless for me strobe or sos modes.

Cons: For some reason the bezel of my older SF 6p will not screw down all the way (with or without the large outer spring. There is about 1mm gap. It still works fine but the gap bothers me and it may cause a moisture entry issue (I may be wrong about that because of the 0-ring).

Other Thoughts: Please notice I am a novice entry level user that wanted a better drop-in replacement for the incan bulb that had burned out before the original batteries had gone dead. This LED resurrected a light that languished in a drawer unused for 15 years. For the price I am very pleased with this unit.

Bottomline: This drop-in serves my uses very well. It's all-around usefulness with the ramping makes it a good daily use tool. I haven't had it long enough to determine battery life but so far it seems to be miserly with the power draw especially in the lower settings. I'm using 2x cr-123 at this time. If you want a all-around useful drop-in that's not a hot rod the 17593 may be one of the better choices for a p-60 host.

Pros: 0-100% is nice

Cons: Where is my 3 modes?
Its only 1 mode. 1 half press will let you dial in the amount of light from 0-100%
NOT BRIGHT AT ALL.
Seems way under driven

Other Thoughts: If this was an acuall 3 modes 0-100% drop in that was driven @ 1.2a then it would be awesome.
Seems way to easy to access the ramp mode, just a half press and it will start to get brighter. Kind of a pain.

Bottomline: For the price I would just go with the regular 5 mode P60 drop in. I was trying to avoid the strobe and sos features.

Pros: Very nice current draw for light output , I do like the 0-100% feature .

Cons: 3 modes ???? What 3 modes , mine only has 0-100% function .

Other Thoughts: 18650: Ramping up to the first flashing point [ 5% ]
5% = 0.1A current draw - around 30Lumen output
50% = 0.33A current draw - around 90Lumen output
100% = 0.7A current draw - around 190Lumen output
@ 1- 2 Lumen = 0.01A
2 x RCR123A [ 8.4v ]
5% = 0.11A current draw - about 30Lumen output
50% = 0.26A current draw - about 100Lumen output
100% = 0.5A current draw - about 200Lumen output
?Well , mine is only 0-100% , there were no 3 modes , and current draw is low to say the least . I took it for a walk , putting the drop in in a Solarforce L2 body . Its was very easy to use , I had no problems choosing a light level to use . On high it threw about 100 meters , and I found it to be more than useful , its not as bright or as throw'y as my other R2 drop ins , but this one looks to be a keeper , and may end up in that Luxeon light I got recently .
If you seek a hot drop in , this one is not it , this is more of a conservative achiever that has no modes , just ramps to the level you want , and will remember that setting for the next time you turn it on , and simply by a few half clicks , it will start from low and ramp to what ever level you want next , it may not be for everyone , and I can see a spot in my collection for this one , and the more I think about it , maybe another one . [ Would love to find this driver ]

Bottomline: Its a good drop in , the 0-100% function allows you to chose the correct light level , the flashing for 5% 50% and 100% is nice and lets you know at what consumption / performance level your at .
Bottom line , if 0-100% is what your looking for , and your not looking for Super High Performance , then this drop in is nice ...

Ownership verified by DX Nice drop in, very configurable, ok learning curve

Pros: Good brightness level
"infinitely adjustable" from very dim to very bright
Mode memory seems to work just fine.
Able to set it at a very dim level, which is good for most uses, and has good battery life.

Cons: I wish it was just the 0-100 mode, and no stupid strobe or SOS modes, but oh well.
Takes a bit of getting used to the interface.

Other Thoughts: Works just fine with 1 x 18650 battery - I love 18650s :)

Bottomline: I love being able to set it to a dim level which is fine for most uses and doesn't eat up the battery.
