Ownership verified by DX bright and handy P7 based light
Posted by klevo on 1/21/2009
Involvement: Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership: 1 day to 1 week

Price: starstarstarstar
Ease of Use: starstarstarstar
Build Quality: starstarstarstar
Usefulness: starstarstarstar
Overall Rating: starstarstarstar

Pros: + great brightness
+ compact handy size
+ sealed design (water proof? not tested :) yet)
+ great choice of modes
+ o-rings is factory lubed
+ modes: Mid=Hi=Fast strobe=Low=3Hz strobe=1Hz strobe=SOS=Special police mode strobe (one second fast strobe batch then one second pause, 2
second cycle total)
+ solid build
+ feed by only one 18650 Li-ion battery
+ has a visible sticker inside of the barrel with memo about correct battery type and polarity usage printed on it
+ fits both protected (sku.5790) and unprotected (sku.933, in my case 2200 mAh) cells without the need to use magnets at positive end as extenders.

Cons: - I can confirm as stated by another user in forum that after light is getting hot sometimes it works as two-mode only light with high and mid (low?) state.
When shut off for a while it will returns to the normal behavior.
- Also there is no mode memory, light returns to a mid state after 1 minute or continue cycling through the modes if clicked within 60 sec.
- Battery is little rattling inside of the barrel end due to design of the tail cap switch (all Aurora lights?). Trick - use small piece of paper as shown on picture (will
upload soon ). This will fix an issue with rattling.

Other Thoughts: * Unit has too much modes which is little annoying to switch between. I would prefer 3 group modes arranged something like in this module (sku.7612)
* Fits both holsters sku.1152 and sku.5250.
I recommend sku.1152. Holster sku.807 does not fit.
* Comes with no strap and it's not possible to attach it without modding because no corresponding hole provided. Cannot be use as a candle because of the
bottom switch is little jut out.
* Size is just slightly bigger than WF-501B.
* Emitter tint is close to cold bluish white (seems to be SSC P7 CSXOI) and different than used in sku.14212 (I think CSWOI, more greenish)
* Weight is 133g / 180g loaded with sku.5790
* Visible P7 pattern at close distances (as with all P7 lights)
* Seems to be more flooder than thrower (compared to sku.14212).

Bottomline: I recommend this light if you have not owned P7-based light before.

Ownership verified by DX Very powerful light

Involvement: General (knows how to use it) - Ownership: 1 day to 1 week

Price: starstarstarstar
Ease of Use: starstarstarstarstar
Build Quality: starstarstarstarstar
Usefulness: starstarstarstar
Overall Rating: starstarstarstarstar

Pros: It is very well build. The light is very very bright. I don't have other flashlight to compare, but it is really impressive.
The 8 modes are crazy to use. I guess it is usefull in case of car accident.

Cons: I don't know any cons.
Note that special batteries and charger are needed.

Other Thoughts: I bought also:
01251 UltraFire 3.6/3.7V Battery Charger
05790 TrustFire Protected 18650 Lithium Battery (2500mAh 2-Pack Blue).

Bottomline: I recommend this product for someone looking for the most powerfull flashlight!
