Pros: The screen came packaged very well apart from some of the protective plastic film peeling a little in the corners, the screen was in perfect condition.
Mine came as one piece as well and included a cable that would fit in a USB port. With a little switching around, I was able to use that cable as the "USB in", connect the ribbon to the "Touch" cable, tape the touch screen to my 900A EEE PC (yes to the outside) and then connect the USB to one of my USB ports to give it a test run before I took anything apart. WOW Windows 7 picked it up right away and I was able to see the screen in action...

Cons: ... except that Windows 7 was not doing a very good job mapping the touches. I couldn't find a way to calibrate the touch screen using the native Windows 7 driver, so I took meiansan's advice and downloaded the drivers here: http://home.eeti.com.tw/web20/eg/drivers.htm

Other Thoughts: This external method for using the touch screen will work for me until I manage to put the LCD and touch screen in my car for my car PC. Even with the protective plastic film still on, the touch screen seems adequately responsive.
The on screen keyboard for Windows 7 has also been seriously revamped. It works great with this touch screen and even can do predictive text. I keep it pinned to my taskbar for easy access.

Bottomline: Seriously if you're planning to build a car PC from a EEE PC, this is a good way to do it. Now I just need to find a way to mount the screens in my car and get them to work in direct sunlight... but that's a battle for another day!

Ownership verified by DX One of the best items I've ordered from DX so far.

Pros: - The controller board is not like in the photos. It's better! It's in one piece, making it easier to install.
- The controller board is actually an USB-hub! It has a place to the touchscreen, place to the webcam and three additional USB-outlets. Just imagine what you can do with those :D
- Really, this is a plus: no instructions for installing included. There isn't a one definite way to do it. Search for the forum.eeeuser.com, all the answers are there. Read this first: http://forum.eeeuser.com/viewtopic.php?id=41845

Cons: - Installing needs a lot of knowledge. One little mistake and you'll crack the glass or burn your components. Know what you are doing!
- No drivers included. (but see the Bottomline, please)

Other Thoughts:

Bottomline: - I used this kit for my European version of Asus EeePC 900A.
- This is a solderless kit. Unplug the webcam, plug in the controller board and that's it.
- The display has a glossy surface now, but what can you do :)
- No drivers included. I used these: http://home.eeti.com.tw/web20/eg/drivers.htm
- If that doesn't work, try this: http://210.64.17.162/web20/eg/drivers.htm
- If you have a Asus EeePC 900-series, buy this to make it even more powerful!
- Allow yourself some time. Time to wait for the package, time to study about the installing and time to install.
- Post services can be rough. I had to send the panel kit back two times because it was cracked on arrival. So allow some time.

Pros: DX packaged it properly, unlike the other reviews I have seen that says they all arrived cracked. I bought 2, because I cracked the first one myself.
Great, easy to install. I thought I have to solder, then found eeepc forum that says in the eee 900a, which does not have the webcam. Just plug it in into the webcam outlet. The webcam will appear in the bios, which was not there before. And enable it in the bios.

Cons: Cracks easily. No instructions on which plug goes to the laptop webcam. I had to figure it out myself using a desktop.

Other Thoughts: I have to drill holes into the LCD frame holder to lower the LCD and make room for this Panel. Glad I found the forum in eeepc which provides all the instruction

Bottomline: If you have a eeepc or the other 9" netbook. This is a must have toy.

Ownership verified by DX Installed on an eee 900

Pros: Cheap and functional, fit my eee 900 without mods. came with screen, one board, connector wires and CD. Two extra internal USB ports when finished with the install (one with an included cable, one without a cable - get your own.) Webcam still works after install. No soldering, just plug-and-go. CD had correct drivers, you just have to dig a bit to find them.

Cons: Fiddley install, lots of small parts that my fat fingers had difficulty with. Slow response when moving the cursor with a stylus. No instructions, really had to dig around to find good information. Panel is FRAGILE. I chipped one corner just putting the front cover on, but the unit still works. Had to take both front covers off, and I popped the motherboard loose so I could wrap the extra USB cable around to the bottom so I could access it thru the RAM door.

Other Thoughts: algerath1 summed the install up nicely. On my eee 900, the touch screen connector strip had to go on the right side to get the touch surface facing the correct way. I have an eee pc 900 16g. Everything fit inside the case reasonably well. I put the USB hub/controller on the front left corner of the motherboard, just to the left of the mouse pad. The screen does bulge a bit, but not excessively. Be careful when tightening the screen bezel screws, you can overtighten and crack the touchscreen easily. Take your time with everything, this isn't a rush job.

Bottomline: I'd do it again, it's a nice addition to my eee pc. I'll do it to my next eee too.
