Ownership verified by DX Nice pocket light, not super durable

Pros: Very bright light, simple operation, seems hefty and well built. Very nice for carrying around in your pocket.

Cons: It got dropped once onto concrete and appears to have a loose connection, it took a bit of playing with to get it to come on again, but it's pretty flaky now. I'll probably have to re-solder all of the connections to make it 100% again.

Other Thoughts: It's a good looking light, feels very hefty and solid.

Bottomline: Nice light, just don't drop it :) Would be fine if you carry it around in your pocket I guess.

Ownership verified by DX very decent light, good edc too!

Pros: it's got a very good build to it,
overall fit and finish is really good,
i wasn't expecting it.
the quality and machine work is close in
comparison with romisen products!...close. ;]
having a Q2 in it is at least a little
more up to date than some romisens.
(i hold romisens in very high regard,
they are my favorite brand)
it has a strong reverse click switch
with a glowy cap.
the hotspot is very compareable to the
RC-C3, almost.
it is very bright.
nice size and useful light make it a
good every day carry light.
again... the price is also comparible to romisen models.

Cons: i thought i had a dud 'til i started
diagnostic rundown on it.
found the paint on the end of the body not allowing
a completed circuit.
had to file the paint off the body to make contact.
overall just slightly, very slightly, a lesser
build quality than the average romisen.
has a quick release lanyard that rattles a little.
hotspot is similar to RC-C3 but it lacks the trow.
the old RC-G2's ancient P2 is still
brighter with a hell of a lot more throw.
although the clicker is strong,
it needs a reverse click switch.

Other Thoughts: the cons are being picky,
and using romisen as a quality indicater
should tell you that these are decent lights.
the name is cool... TANK 007 !!
or is it TANKOO 7 ?? i don't know.

Bottomline: yet another nicely built affordable light offering from DX.
it's a good one to stash around in places.
it would make a good gift for a friend/relative.
they'd be impressed with it's output.
and at $12 it's one more unbelieveabley
inexpensive super-bright lights from DX.

Pros: This is a neat little flashlight with a fine scratch-resistant finish. The O-rings are better than average and the threads are smooth. There's a GITD button as pictured but not mentioned in the description. The switch seems positive, not too mushy or stiff.

Cons: Alas, all is not well. Seems kind of dim for the 1A current draw, hardly brighter than a Romisen G2 which costs less. And the beam is very diffuse, thanks to its heavily textured reflector. At least the spill is bright and smooth. Big problem is that the draw on the battery increased 15% in 5 minutes and no warming of the head was noted, though plenty of heat could be felt in front of the reflector--heatsink problems. The head was glued to the body and the pill was, too. :( Can't tailstand.

Other Thoughts: I was able to separate the head and body with plenty of torque and 2 sets of leather-lined pliers. The pill came loose with a lot of tapping a pin in a side hole. The emitter was sitting loose on top of the pill, only held by the driver's wires. I put heatsink compound under it and changed to a 1.5v, 5-mode driver (from DX). Now it's much better with 3 brightnesses, a 110 lumen high on 1200mA without rising due to an overheating emitter. The body noticeably warms in 10 minutes now, is hot in 30 (not too much to hold), and the heat out the front is less. It's now worthy as an EDC when you don't need lots of throw but like bright spill (opposite the Romisen G2).

Bottomline: With help this turned into a good light. I would hope I got a rare one without proper heatsinking. If you want more than one mode, the 3-mode one costs less than 10% more and is probably better than modding this one with its glue hassles. Hopefully, the 3-mode one has a better driver than the 300mA output one this light had. If they are not properly heatsinked, I can see a reason for low power, but it seems to waste a good light.
