Pros: Prices lower than other suppliers.Very powerfull led. Directly connected to Li-ion battery makes a perfect flashlight. More powerfull then other brands that I bought earlier.Very interresting when paying with euro's
Cons: Not really a con. but more a warning. Do supply sufficient cooling when powered by i.e. 18650 Li-ion battery directly. Wonder if the silicone dome will stay clear after a longer period of use.
Other Thoughts: Also available with star heatsink for easy modifying of standard flashlights. Very good for making a powerfull flaslight combined with the bare barrel (SKU 15159)
Bottomline: No better ones found so far for making flashlights.
Pros: Very bright LED, my last LED only got 130 lumens, this one has about 240 lumens (it may vary from led to led but DX has got the best rated leds, so they should reach 240lm). And the beam is really white, no blue or yellowish shadows that other cheap leds show...
Cons: none found, the "rubber dome" is not a big problem if you put the led into some case that will protect it...
Other Thoughts: none
Bottomline: very good price (in germany you have to pay about 8€ for this led), so if you want a cheap and bright led buy this one!
Pros: This is a great price for a bright LED. I considered getting a newer U2 bin Seoul from elsewhere but learned that they have a higher forward voltage which would reduce my runtimes and give me an inperceptable increase in lumens. This is one of the best options available for updating your luxeon lights.
Cons: None. People complain about the gummy dome but it really isnt a big deal. Its not really that soft and you can clean it easily with alcohol if you get it smudged.
Other Thoughts:
Bottomline: This emitter allowed me to update my Insight Typhoon into a blinding close quarters weapon. I absolutely love the performace of this LED.
Pros: very bright. doesn't generate all that much heat. decent power consumption. if you know what this is, then you know its a good item.
Cons: theres none that i can think of, other than the shipping time, which has nothing to do with the item.
Other Thoughts: i used this to upgrade my minimag's teralux led. made a good difference, altho the reflector is not the greatest.
Bottomline: as most say, its awesome for the price. get several of them and mod to your hearts content! i personally bought two, and im not sure what im going to do with the second one just yet.
