Pros: I am very pleased with the output of this light. I have had over an hour of runtime so far on one of the trustfires from here on dx. The machining quality of the casing is very good, even excellent and the threads fit very nicely between the head and the body. The design is quite unique.
Cons: The hole which is drilled for the wrist-strap/lanyard tore out as it was drilled to close to the end of the casing. However due to the design of the actual unit it would have been hard to avoid this during manufacture. It isn't a con really as I still love the light!
Other Thoughts: Drill the hole for the lanyard/wrist strap on an angle as to avoid coming close to the edge.
Bottomline: Great, very bright, uniquely designed little light with the mxdl logo. Perfect for your keys or placing in your car which I have done.
Pros: Small. Lightweight. Relatively cheap. Bright enough to be really useful but no too much to drain batteries in minutes. Good external appearance, looks a bit futuristic.
Cons: Build quality is not so good. O ring is nearly useless as it is poor quality and wrong size. Lot of debris inside, including reflector and lens. Emitter was not tightened enough on two of three units, and there is no any seal around lens. Heavy burrs around lanyard hole. Lanyard itself is really poor quality, on one of my units i pulled it out of plastic piece while removed light from the package.
Other Thoughts: What about extension tube to be able to load 17670 rechargeables to this light?
Bottomline: Not so bad for price, if you don't mind to disassemble it to clean and deburr all around. ;) Good emergency light that you can have in a pocket.
Pros: Very small, compact light. Perfect for carrying around in the pocket and putting in the glovebox of the car. This light is a twisty, so no need to worry about switch failure. Also, this light uses RCR123 easily so no need to waste money on primaries
Cons: This light is nowhere near 3WThe output is nearly the same as my 0.5W cree light.
Other Thoughts:
Bottomline: Get a few to give to family members for emergencies. These lights are extremely cheap and reliable for emergencies. Also, the runtime is much better than the higher watt lights.
Pros: Easy to use. No need to mess with multimodes. Cheap enough to not worry about losing it.
Cons: Lower build quality than hyped by other reviews. But justified to say that for this price, dont complain. Gets hot after 10 minutes use.
Other Thoughts: 1 hour upon receiving it, had the chance to put it to real world trial. My car was in the workshop and the mechanic was inspecting the brake pads with his old flashlight. It was midday with bright sun. Popped up mine to "help" him see better. He was duly surprised with its brightness. Offered to buy from me.
Bottomline: get a couple and put it everywhere ie. in your car, drawer, toilet(?)
