Output and temperature is great (~2000lux@1m, depending on battery used) (significantly lower temperature than that of the JIA 1x AA Cree light).

This particular light uses MXDL's barrels so build quality is good considering its price. The steel materials used is quite heavy -- you probably know this if you have experience with the MXDL light.

Battery life is about an hour on one typical AA battery. It is reported by some customers that the flashlight will not start up if battery voltage drops below 1.3V. The light seems to light up continuously if you do not power cycle the light (on and off and on) after the battery drops to 1.3V.

Pros: Bright "for a 1 aa at this price"
Great build quality 
Cons: Dim compaired to more expensive lights but great for everyday use. 
Other Thoughts: For 10 bucks you cant go wrong 
Bottomline: Buy it

Pros: Bright for a 1 aa light.  Build quality is OK and I have had no problems with the light.  CREE brightness for a very cheap price.   
Cons: A bit big for every day carry but still fairly small.   
Other Thoughts: More choices now but this light is still as bright as any other 1 aa light I have except the rexlight. 
Bottomline: For the price, it is hard to beat if you don't have to have the smaller size like in the 1 aa cree c3 light.

Pros: Bright, decent build quality, uses common AA batteries. 
Cons: Focus slightly off; have to losen the head a little to get a tighter focus. 
Other Thoughts: I don't have the issues that some other reviewers had. Mine just works. I get about 3 hrs runtime with Panasonic 2000ma NIMH battery. Brightness is in between the high and medium level of my Jetbeam CLE. 
Bottomline: worth the money.

Pros: cheap. small.  
Cons: build quality poor. have to bang the light with my hand or on the counter sometimes to get any light out of it. not brighter than 1w luxon.  
Other Thoughts: for $10 i proved to myself that a $10 flahslight is a $10 flashlight. i will still buy from DX because they do a good job and i do like a lot of the stuff i have purchased from them.  shipping time was less than 14 days which is awesome! the simply cree i bought in the same order seems to have a lot better build quality just less bright (but i don't have to pound on it to get light) button smells like partially cured rubber but unless you are unually picky this will be the least of your concerns 
Bottomline: for <$11 and one 1AA i would choose the simply cree over this. i really don't want to have to have partially working stuff no matter what the price.

Usage Instructions

Just snap in 1x AA battery, Alkaline or NiMH Rechargeable. Do not use 14500 3.6V cells as they will burn out the step up circuitry and permanently damage the light.
