Pros: When I received this drop in it didn't work at all. I did purchase a different PCB for it and it works now quite well. I think it didn't because the soldering job was poor. I got this unit initially because I wanted a MC-E LED. I am pleased with the brightness with the LED. I had to MOD the reflector to fit a Mag type housing which was easy enough.
Cons: The unit didn't work on delivery.
Other Thoughts: Things I like: 1. The reflector is great. 2. The pill housing is great. 3. The MC-E LED is great. 4. The build quality of the above parts is really good.
Bottomline: I believe that if you buy one of these drop-ins yours will most likely work and the one that I received was just one of those things and its not worth getting upset about. I looked at it as an opportunity for me to learn more about Modding.
Pros: This devices has a few modes but not too many modes. Build quality is great for DealExtreme.
Cons: Sharp edges especially on the threads on the reflector. Weird artifacts when you use close up, the artifacts are from the 4 die it uses. 3D Alkaline batteries will not power this device.
Other Thoughts: This module is bright but not as bright as I would have thought it would be, I'm probably not using it to it's full potential running it off of 4D cells. Fits into the DX xenon 4D cell flashlight without any mods.
Bottomline: I had to buy a 4D Alkaline battery flashlight from this site to use this module. Not impressively bright for a 4D size.
