Involvement: Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership: more than 1 month

Price: starstarstarstarstar
Ease of Use: starstarstarstar
Build Quality: starstarstarstar
Usefulness: starstarstarstar
Overall Rating: starstarstarstarstar

Ownership verified by DX Awesome MP3 acorn player.

Pros: -Very little, certainly the smallest/original MP3 player i've ever seen.
-Very good sound quality.
-Nice fading effect when using it.
-Led indicator, showing you when it's on/reading/charging.
-Auto cut off when charge is complete.
-Charge via usb.
-Long playback time.

Cons: -Usb 1.1 transfer.
-No volume memory, start at a middle high volume each time you start, simply press volume down and that's ok.
-That's all.

Other Thoughts: -It is a very easy to operate player, uses a joystick to change track, go forward, volume up/down, stop, shut down.
-Total: virtually 5 button .
-Turns on when jack is inserted.

Bottomline: -Very good price for a nice gift for everyone (especially for me ^^).

Pros: The build quality is something i did not expect was going to be all that great. But the acorn does have a little weight to it so i'm thinking it can be dropped a few times with no problems. it also came in an ipod-style casing. also you dont need any crazy drivers or software to put music on it. it just comes up as generic usb drive and you just drag music onto it. music plays with excellent quality. also, when you skip to the next track, it fades out the song then starts the next song which makes it seem like some good thought and engineering went into this little thing.

Cons: i dont know how to tell beside it not workin when the battery is low or dead. also came with crappy ipod style headphones which i wont use.

Other Thoughts: ive been looking for a small mp3 player for the gym and this capacity at this price is perfect. i plan on telling people i know people at apple and telling them this is their new "iCorn" prototype =D

Bottomline: buy itttttt!!!!

Pros: It's small
Looks like wood? I wasn't actually interested in it looking like wood but yeah.
Could pass off as a not mp3 player (what I bought it for)
Pretty much plug n play, doubles as a memory thingy
Battery is unbelievably lasting. About 6-8 hours (I'm not sure yet)
3.5 headphones!
easy controls
turns off and on when you disconnect/connect headphones. could be a con sometimes though.
real 2 gbs (mine was 1.88 but whatever lol)

Cons: the order in which it plays your tracks is completely random. sometimes it repeats them in one playlist ??
when you turn it off the playlist rearranges all over again D:
sometimes when you wanna turn the volume up or down you accidentally change tracks

Other Thoughts: I don't really understand the on off thing completely yet. sometimes you press it down for like 5 seconds and it shuts down, but it also shuts down if you pause it or if you take out headphones ??? so I don't know what the correct way is. sometimes when you pause it itll start at the same place you left it and other times itll start the track again and others itll start at a different track, depending on how you shut it off :S haha.

Bottomline: I live in a bad neighborhood so I bought this as a replaceable mp3 player that I wouldn't mind getting mugged with. It's also small to carry around anywhere all the time. I love it. I don't really mind the whole playlist rearranging thing that much :) great price :)
