Pros: I bought this to charge my samsung phone via usb. Unfortunately it didn't put out enough power to do so. It does put out enough power to charge just about every other phone on the market (blackberries, htc touch, motorolas.
Cons: I wish it came with a usb cable and output enough juice to charge my samsung phone. Not very pretty...
Other Thoughts: DX has a lame 500 character minimum for reviews.
Bottomline: It's great! if your phone charges via usb, it makes a great cheap spare charger should you lose your existing one.
Pros: This thing is just great, it takes devices that normally want to charge via USB, and allows you to plug them into the wall. I've tested it with a number of different items, they all seem to work to either pull power or even better, to charge! There's a little green LED that lights up when you plug it in.
Cons: The odd item is bound to not work with this. I think I may have found at least 1, maybe even 2. I can't remember though. Most times if it doesn't work, I still have the original cable anyway. Perhaps the mAh is to low/high, but I guess I don't care enough to go searching on my electronics.
Other Thoughts: I pose to you a question. Why wouldn't you benefit from being able to get power from something other than the USB port directly? This can help reduce clutter, even cut down on the total number of cables that you need.
Bottomline: I thought it was a neat device when I first saw it, and I made sure this one was the one I wanted to buy. After I purchased it, it sat for a while not being used. More recently, too many electronics that I have want their turn charging from it.
Pros: Great overall quality. Good price. Look strong. Do fast charging.
Cons: This adapter DON'T work with the iPod Shuffle. Tested with my own Shuffle (1st gen) and does not charge at all.
Other Thoughts: Tested with my iPod Nano (2nd gen) and my iPod Video (5th gen) and it charge well and fast.
Bottomline: Not exactly 100% compatible with all USB powered devices. The iPod Shuffle was a great example and there's probably some others devices who are not working with this adapter. In the case this adapter does not work with your device, you'll have to consider to buy the genuine USB adapter from your device's manufacturer.
Pros: Useful for charging electronics straight from the wall rather than through the USB port when you have no computer around
Cons: None
Other Thoughts:
Bottomline: If you want to charge your USB device from the wall outlet rather than USB port, then this nifty device will do the trick.
