Pros: For my uses, none. Case build quality is passable. Internal build is ok - voltage at 1000mA load is 4.6v, and at 500mA it is also at 4.6v.
Cons: Doesn't charge iPod Photo, iPod Nano, Sony K800i and Sony P990i...which is the whole reason I bought this. Note that I was using genuine OEM cables for all of the above. The USB connector is very loose and the contacts needed bending in to make contact with the plug.
Other Thoughts: This is able to power stuff like USB lights and fans that don't need strict voltage regulation.
Bottomline: A good price but be aware that it won't charge all devices. I'm guessing this is due to the low voltage.
Pros: This device is affordable. The external finishing is good and the adapter plugs snugly into a standard UK AC socket. Indicator LED lights up when charger turned on.
Cons: The charger specifications might be borderline and the performance of the charger depends on the device and the cable used. The charger could not be used to charge the following two phones using a standard USB charging cables:a) Palm Treo Pro (with original charging cable)b) iPhone (2G)However, the charger worked for:a) NDSb) Palm Treo Pro (with McKal micro-USB charging cable)c) Samsung U700 (with original USB charging cable)
Other Thoughts: Some trial and error is required to get the charger working for demanding devices.
Bottomline: The charger is cheap and can likely be used for most devices that supports USB charging. However, for the more demanding phones, the charger might not work. Be prepared that it might not work the way you expect it.
Pros: Attractive looking and good build qualityReally good value1000mA provides plenty of "juice"Standard UK plug, no need for travel adaptors when using in the UKGood for travel too, since you don't need to carry separate chargers, just this and the appropriate USB cables.
Cons: None that I can think of - it's a great deal for under $5 shipped!
Other Thoughts: Works fine for my TomTom and I've also tried it on various iPods and MP3 players. Haven't tried with a hub but I guess it would work fine.
Bottomline: A great thing to have in case you're away from your PC or don't want to leave it on just to charge something.
Pros: Ideal for charging all those USB powered devices - and more and more of them use this way of charging now, especially MP3 players, cell phones etc.Power seems to hold up well, even charging several items so I assume that the rating is accurate.Solid build quality
Cons: None really. It does what it is supposed to do - power USB devicesI would like to see an auto off when charge is complete but I don't know how the manufacturer could work that in!
Other Thoughts:
Bottomline: I use this, some convertors and a USB battery charger to dispense with all my other chargers on holiday. It powers/charges my MP3, speakers, DS lite and camera batteries etc. It has cut down on quite a bit of clutter and weight in my bag.
