Ownership verified by DX Very bright!

Pros: -very bright.
-very cheap.
-small in size but easy to mount and cool(I used thermal glue(from dx) and glued it on a piece of scrap heatsink, and it stays cool)
-It is ultra bright. This LED gives more light than te main light on my ceiling.
-easy to solder.

Cons: -It is maybe a little too bright. But this of course is a silly argument, because you can choose how much current you pas through it.
-It shines at nearly 180 degrees. Maybe I need to buy one of those special LEDs that have a lens and reflector integrated.

Other Thoughts: I made a very small flashlight(60x70x35mm) from a small tupperware-like box. I integrated a lithium-polymer battery and the 3256 driver in the box. A very small flashlight and yet the brightest light in our house.

Bottomline: Get at least two.

Pros: Damn they are bright and this on a small star. Perfect to build it in some aplication, like home lightning, flashlight, desklamps and hundreds of aplications. You don't have much other components needed to build something of your own. Just a soldering iron a few wires and a battery.

Cons: Could always be cheaper, maybe a discount if you buy 20pcs.
For the rest no big cons, its just a fine led. And I will go plenty of these led.
But know I'm still waiting on my order from january, the leds would be temporaly out of stock.

Other Thoughts: The cree R2 is a litle bit brighter but not much, I would go for this led Price/efficient. You always have to be careful with leds, so use a driver instead of a resistor.

Bottomline: If you search for a good led, buy this one, DX has also good drivers on 230AC and also on DC, you also have plety of choice in the lens here on DX. So buy these led here on DX!

Pros: These things are much smaller than i thought they were and are insanely bright for how bright i thought they would be
It would be awesome if they were cheaper, but i believe DX is offering the best deal for them right now.

Cons: Even better if they were cheaper.

Other Thoughts: There about the size of a quarter and get somewhat hot.
Make sure you have them attached to a heatsink or a think piece of aluminum to dissipate the heat.
You'll also need some cheap thermal grease to make the best connection.

Bottomline: BUY THEM.

Ownership verified by DX Bright light, perfect for modding

Pros: Bright cree emitter on star, perfect for modding bike lights and flashlights etc. Allows you to build your own lights for cheap.

Cons: May require filing as mentioned in other reviews to fit into a lot of flash lights / torches. You need to be able to solder the star so some skill is required.

Other Thoughts: Could always be cheaper but for the price this is hard to beat on here.

Bottomline: Extreme deal. I would buy again if I needed to do more modding.
Buy this and mod your own lights instead of paying ridiculous retail prices for commercially available options.
I used this with a cheap flash light from here and the plastic holder to attach to bike handle bars. Gold.
