Pros: I bought these for use with the wiimote in conjunction to form a wii multi-touch whiteboard. I am very impressed, and would recommend these to anyone who's been opening expensive remotes to find short or broken LED's, VERY CHEAP and EXTREMELY EFFECTIVE.
Cons: None found to this day
Other Thoughts: Dealextreme is an excellent and trustable source which should be trusted. I was scared of buying online at first, but am now a VERY happy customer, looking to place my fifth order. Thank's DX!!!
Bottomline: Recommended if needed
Pros: Long connect point. Fits in pcb boards flawlessly. came quickly and in a nice package. Used it in conjunction with a webcam and replaced it's lights with these and they are very powerful
Cons: None everything seems to check out. titter twitter 500 character thingy
Other Thoughts: could have indicated positive and negative points but wasn't a problem for me. be careful with IR leds as you cannot see them but it will continue to damage your eyes because they do not adjust to the radiation and burn.
Bottomline: Good sturdy build all should buy. Remember it is in a red package that is all bubbly wrapped for your convinience.
Pros: IR leds can be hard to find for a cheap price. Places like ****** (can't post here), will have many leds cheap, but don't sell any IR. I planned on using these to make LED pens/ other projects for wiimote projects (google "johnny lee chung"), but I've been busy and haven't gotten around to it. They work fine, and are a good price if you only need a few
Cons: None really, except maybe DX should sell bigger packs, i.e. 100 packs for $6
Other Thoughts:
Bottomline: This is much cheaper than me ripping out IR leds out of $7 TV remote controls. It is cheap and may be useful in the future, esp. if you wanna mess around w/ wiimote stuff. I'd recommend getting a pack :)
Pros: -Cheap LED, i found nowhere even NEAR that price -Long enough wires -I got 21 leds!!! ^^
Cons: -They look cheap, well they are but they work!-Not the most powerful, but do more then well the job!-They don't have indication of wich wire is negative or positive, like more expensive LED, but you just test before installing them.-When you power them they emit a little red light, it might not be a con for some people.
Bottomline: -Cheap and good IR LED, i would recommand for any DIY project.-20 is more then enough for any DIY project.
