Pros: XP-E emitter, easy drop in for P60 ready lights. Mode memory for last mode used. Nice tight spot with sufficient flood.
Cons: OVERDRIVEN! With a single Li-on, don't know how long it will last. Driver board a little hinky; when activated, has about a 1/4 second delay before anything happens (same with mode changes). Finned reflector design not the best for heat management.
Other Thoughts: DX needs to press the manufacturer to clarify power needs; mine came with 4.2-8.4V sticker. I switched out the driver with sku 1885 (still over-driven, but ok so far) and it is now very bright and not a bit angry as of yet. The P60 is not the best platform for the XP-E, but works fairly well.
Bottomline: Changing this to a dedicated .7-.8 mA driver would make it the best balance of brightness, run time, and emitter lifetime. Still worth the price of admission.
Very nice Thrower

Pros: If your looking for a low current draw drop in that can throw , then this is the best you can buy ATM .
Cons: 4.2v Please , I bought this for single CR123A use , I did not want 8.4v .
Other Thoughts: I put this in my Ultrafire 501A for use with single RCR123A , and it is a combo worth having I can tell you . Very low current draw and can match my other R2 [ 18650 ] lights , without so much as a hick up for throw.
Bottomline: Best low current draw drop in for P60 hosts by a good margin , can match it with the best R2 drop ins out there for throw . If I could only afford 1 flashlight , Ultrafire 501A + this drop in . I may replace the driver in the future so I can use primaries if needed , and to increase output with a single RCR123A .
Great Drop In

Pros: This drop-in is great.
Very bright with one 17670.
Due to the XPE package being small it deliver a tight beam around 15* hot spot and 18* corona with the stock reflector but using a XRE reflector it delivers a 40* wide beam when set .6mm back from the reflector, 32-35* beam at 1.2mm back and 23-25* beam at 1.8mm back the farthest that I could go back is 2.4mm with 10-12* hot spot and large 25* corona.
Color tint on my XPE is a nice Neutral White (4700K).
Cons: Side Spill is ok.
Changing modes doesn't work well with forward clicky switch. But I will mod it to work as 1 mode (Hi) since that all I use anyway.
Bit dim with one RCR123 on High.
Other Thoughts: If you want to make it as a single mode (Hi) all you have to do is desolder the negative (-) lead and relocated to one of the holes on the side of the board that the (-) pad and doing so will by pass the IC chip.
Bottomline: Get this if your looking for tight beam.
Get this if your looking for neutral white tint.
Get this if your looking to use one 18xxx, 17xxx or 14500 battery.
Not really impressed by it.

Pros: It is a straight drop in for P60 type.
Memory mode works.
That's it.
Cons: Tint is slightly blue to yellow, not white.
Tested and compared against SKU 14442 (Cree R2-WC 250-Lumen 5-Mode Memory Drop-in LED Module (3.6V~8.4V)using;
1. 1 x 16340 = SKU 14442 is better.
2. 1 x 18650 = SKU 14442 is better.
3. 2 x 16340 = SKU 14442 is better.
Overall SKU 14442 is whiter, has better spot and throw compare to this drop in.
Other Thoughts: I was excited that the max voltage is 4.2 because I needed this to run with only 1 x 16340. WRONG....on the module there is a sticker saying 4.2v - 8.4v.
DX please fix your description because it is misleading. I bought two of these according to your description but it is not what it is.
Bottomline: For my application this is not it. I was truly hoping it to be a 4.2v MAX module.
The search goes on......
