Staff assessment:
It is ideal for home, office, and travellers as it doesn't require much space to operate and won't interfere with any typing actions. It works by strapping to the index finger with button operated by the thumb. Work on any textured surface, such as clothes, pants, just like regular optical mouses.
In real life testing, we found that it takes a while to get used to a "vertical" finger operated mouse due to the fact that most computer users have never dealt with something like this. You'll need to learn to point it at a consistent angle, and also the way to use your thumb to operate the two buttons.
Mouse resolution is good for typical operations. Don't plan to use it with photoshop or action games though -- get a full-blown mouse instead. This is supposed to be a spacer saving and novel gadget that works.
Once you get used to it though (which should be fairly quick), you'll love the little operating space it takes. A must have gadget for frequent travellers who hate tiny touchpads and even more tiny IBM track sticks. You'll find it especially useful in space-contrained situations such as travelling on buses, trains, and planes.
Pros: I was quite skeptical of this product when I first ordered it, but after been using it in a business trip I have found that the product not only works great, but is quite a conversation topic. I think this mouse should be only used for laptops/netbooks as in larger spaces a conventional mouse is much more convenient The packaging is really good
Cons: Takes time to get used to the weight in your finger when typungthe velcro seems that will loose grip
Other Thoughts: Great proce for a good gadget
Bottomline: really liked it
Pros: Appears to be built well
Cons: Cord could be a little longer, it seems short if you're using it on a desktop PC instead of a laptop. End needs to be pretty close to the surface before it'll pick it up. I'm not a fan of the buttons either, I think they could have been layed out better (maybe I just need to get used to it)
Other Thoughts: I picked this up because it was cheap and I thought it might be handy for image editing where you need fine control. I could see this taking some getting used to before someone is proficient with it, I haven't had enough time to devote to it yet. When I need to do photo editing I usually have a deadline so I've just went back to my graphics tablet for now.
Bottomline: It is definitely a neat little gadget with potential, I think the learning curve is a little steep for getting used to it. As cheap as it is why not pick one up for the fun of it.
Pros: This is a nice mouse, excellent to be used with a laptop. It stays on your finger, and after a short while of getting used to it, it is just as easy to use as any other mouse. Responds nicely whether you use the couch or your pants as mousepad.
Cons: The sensor seems to break a little too easily, and the mouse is not that sturdy built.
Other Thoughts: I have bought 3 pcs of this mouse altogether. The first my daughter broke (yes, keep away from 2-year olds), the second actually had a loose left mouse button that it never recovered from, and the third worked for a good while. It was shelved for a month or two, and when i tried using it again the sensor was broke. Could be a number of explanations for that, but I don't know which is correct.
Bottomline: Great product, I guess I've just been unlucky with mine. Maybe I'll by one more another time.
Pros: Nice little concept - I was not sure at first if I would be able to make it work in the manner I wanted it to. I found that for the work I do, keeping it on my finger allows me to type (somewhat slower than normal, but not much impact) while quickly working with a GUI program. Speeds things up overall as I'm not constantly reaching for a mouse. A little surprising how easy it was to get used to.
Cons: The strap starts to cut into your finger after awhile. I padded mine with some felt, which helped.
Other Thoughts: I use it as a "second mouse" for typing applications so that I don't have to constantly go back and forth with a mouse to get to menus.
Bottomline: Worth it. Might be hackable to do more, but have not played with it much in this regard. It became a too valuable when I had to type papers for school because it sped things up for me.
